Why DC penalty should have been removed with the introduction of DC bots:

I understand people are going to disagree and that's valid but it's still the same as ever before. It's like people don't care if the DC penalty got increased to 5 minutes and still DC at will. Most of my games have been like this:

  • Nic Cage teammate baby rages against a baby blight and DCs on 1st down at 5 gens
  • Meg teammate DCs on death hook
  • Gabe randomly DCs against me on 2nd hook with 3 gens left
  • myriad of Sadakos that just slug off the rip and leave you slugged until they eventually get condemned on other survivors
  • other teammates DCing leaving you with bots which makes the game so uninteractive and boring at that point
  • not trying to lay on the ground for 3+ minutes if the killer is clearly struggling to slug everyone else
  • another Nic Cage teammate gives up and tries AFKing
  • killer DCs due to inability to chase
  • I personally have been getting targeted by a killer because they see I'm a P9 Nicolas
  • no reason for me to play it out when everyone DCs against my blight

Now I'm not using my recent experiences to justify removing DC penalties but it's like people have no shame and don't care how high the penalty is and now with the bots it just makes games super boring so it's really pointless to keep the DC penalty. People are still DCing and nothing has changed, and why I think making the penalty harsher will not do anything. At first I thought "people are just not going to want to play if penalties become harsher and it's just bots" which is true, but at the same time, it's still happening when something inconvenient happens and it's like people are just going to ignore the penalty regardless and keep doing what they're doing.

Matchmaking quality simply does not exist, the queue times for survivor have been longer, and still I am put with teammates whom only have sub 300 hours. I'd rather just go next or play selfish instead of being put through that mess because I can only do so much while my teammates are clearly inexperienced, especially against a killer with ONLY 134 hours total.

Removing it would only incentivize the DC'ing.

However, you are definitely correct about matchmaking. I cannot put into words how terrible it is. I have to take extensive breaks from the game sometimes after consecutive games of my teammates wearing no headsets, being allergic to gens, looping for fifteen seconds, etc. I would recommend playing other games with proper matchmaking because then, when you return to DBD, you can just laugh it off. It'll be like a comedy. Eventually, you might not even want to even play the game anymore once you realize how hilariously trash matchmaking is.

And this is why the DC penalty will never be removed from the game.

This I agree with completely. The only other scenario I'd say would be alright in replacing the penalty is to throw persistent disconnecters onto a server where they'd only ever play with others who constantly disconnect, except remove bots from those games. It would be like a strange form of gaming purgatory for them.
