Bug with Hex: Face the Darkness or cheater, or something else?

So I was playing a match with The Artist using Hex: Face the Darkness and encountered a survivor making a noise in one position, and then they finished a gen in a completely different position and was wondering if anyone could make heads or tails about it. There's no scream when the notification happens. But I don't see what else could have made the notification there.

Sorry for poor screenshot quality, but that was their build. Made for this, Dead Hard, Spine Chill and Resilience. Nothing that should have hid their aura or anything like that. I know that the aura read for FtD is really short, so the notification popup from the scream often covers the aura. But even so, the notification was from somewhere in front of the school building, and then a second later they finished the gen at the back of the school building.

Other than this one instance they didn't behave suspicious or anything, so I actually don't think they were cheating. There were scratch marks leading away from the gen, and they knew where the hatch would spawn at shack and still ran there normally (and I was able to down them before they reached it).

But the ultimate question I have is, how could that notification be in that position just before gen popped in a completely different position. Does anyone have any logical suggestions?

    I can't think of anything tbh short of the scream notification being bugged, which is possible, but it's not a current bug I'm aware of. It looks like a cheater to me - they could just be more subtle about it. The distance between the scream and the generator being completed is far too quick for them to have normally travelled.
