Bots suck

I know this isn’t new information but I’m still surprised at just how bad they can be. I had a match where a Yun-Jin dc on first hook and the bot took over. Someone saved her and what does she do? Run around the map - not doing gens, not healing. I was working on a gen and the bot ran up to it then turned around and ran up the hill and off of it and took off into the distance. After finishing the gen I found the bot and was going to heal it except it just kept running from me. Just running…. Eventually when Feng Min was on death hook and I was hooked then the bot decided to heal and let Min die. As I was close to death I could see it running toward me only for it to turn around and head back the way it came.

I get that bots aren’t supposed to be that good but shouldn’t they at least do the basics? Shouldn’t they do gens instead of running around? Shouldn’t they let teammates heal them? Shouldn’t they unhook? Otherwise what’s the point? The killer didn’t even bother with the bot which was smart because they weren’t doing anything productive.

    I’d say they were only slightly less than some of the teammates I had today. Still…

    It can go either way. Nicolas Cage bot unhooked me safely and healed me, and then we did two gens together. Best teammate I had.

    Had a match where one of the other survivors looped the killer for all five gens. After being finally downed and getting picked up, the survivor DC'd. Guessing connection issue or game crash, as I don't know why they'd do that after putting that brilliant amount of work in. The killer wasn't camping the bot and we could get to them and unhooked/out the exit w/o issue. While the killer found and was chasing another survivor we unhooked the bot, which booked it to the exit. We caught it before it got to the panel and it let us heal it. The killer downed and was hooking the third remaining survivor, so we went to get them with the gate 99%'d. The bot tapped the gate panel to open it, and just jogged out.

    Now, I realize that that's kinda what it's supposed to do as that's the ultimate goal of playing survivor, but damn. They could at least hang out near the exit to take a protection hit if needed.

    The bots need to be weak, because the average solo mate is bad and why do you blame the bots. Even if the bots do half of a gen this is more the dced Survivor would habe done.

    I’m not saying I’d take it the other way - I think bots are better than no one. But they should at least be efficient. You never know if you’re going to get a terrible teammate or a great one so at the worst the bots could be average. I’ve seen them go straight for the gates and exit right away which can be disadvantageous but even then I’m fine with it as someone else mentioned that’s their ultimate goal. But in the meantime they should put their butts on gens and help their teammates otherwise what is the point?
