I am very excited for the Alien announcement, and not just that, more than any other chapter I've been around for this feels like the most gratifying out of all of them. This is because it feels like its been built up to for 4 years, with BHVR doing various chapters testing the waters for this kind of chapter.

When I first joined the forums, there was heavy discussion as to whether or not Alien fit in Dead By Daylight. There were arguments that Xenomorph was too non-human, and space would be too sci-fi and wouldn't fit.

Then Demogorgon was announced. Finally we had a non-human killer that we could point at and go, "hey, if this works, then Xenomorph could work". A non-human otherworldly killer is in the game. There was still some debate though. Demogorgon sure was non-human, but still had mostly human-like proportions and anatomy. Then 3 years pass without too much crazy non-human stuff. Then we get dredge, a killer that is entirely non-human in appearance. The true "anything goes" point. If this is in the game, there's no reason Xenomorph can't be.

Still at this point everything was mostly grounded in present times, with the most time period deviation being set in the past with The Plauge. Soon enough, Forged In Steel would come along to remind us that this game can still do other time periods. Then right after that, we would get Tools of Torment. BHVR was dipping their toes into sci-fi and showing us that they're willing to fo into the future a little. Then the very next chapter they dove all the way in. A chapter with a fleshy cyborg and a clone in space.

We've got our non-human killers, and we've got space. This is our sure sign that Alien can work and discussion about it is at an all time high.

And now, at the very next chapter here it is. Alien, finally in Dead By Daylight. After 4 years of experimenting and teasing on what could come, Alien is finally here. This announcement feels like the beautiful conclusion to a tale 4 years in the making.

BHVR, thank you for finally making this dream come true.
