so the devs are fine with the killer bleding out the survivors for four minutes?

so in the last q&a one dev said that base ub was scrapped, but the original problem is still there.

    If they were perfectly fine with it, they wouldn't try things to fix it

    Something obviously wasn't working with the basekit UB since they dumped it but I'm sure they'll keep trying to think of various ways to make it work without being exploitable by people

    Its not happening every game, only very occasionally ... unlike t-bagging at the exit gate. If you don't approach the gates some survivors leave, but there is ALWAYS at least 1, often 2, who just stay for the whole 2min, just for the off.chance of your showing up. Nothing is done about that, and its wasting time every single trial, while a solution would be so easy.

    Heck, even if it was a perk, I would always run it.

    General Perk: "Just Leave!" - a survivor who lingers in the exit gate area for longer then 15s becomes exposed and the gates locked for them, until they move 40m away from the exit gates.

    Thats like saying Devs don't want Killers to actually kill survivors cause old moris were nerfed.

    You are not making sense, just because base UB was scrapped doesn't mean its not a problem they aren't trying to fix. It only means that the solution introduced more problems than it solved.

    I rather be bleed out for 4min once in a blue moon, than having base UB and those lame mori animations in the game loop.

    However I am not against doing something with this, just not the original plan they proposed on PTB

    A simple fix would be giving the last survivor alive the option to bleed out instantly after getting slugged for atleast 10 seconds so the killer still has time to hook them. But we’re talking about bhvr here so…

    Dunno, it's just twice as long as it takes to die on a hook. It's also an entire minute shorter than the briefest DC penalty many survivors seem to willingly endure so eagerly that DC-bots had to be implemented.

    But if such a minimal amount of patience is too much to expect, I believe a self-bleedout option would be preferable to another basekit perk. That would have zero impact on the otherwise delicate general balance.

    Basekit unbreakable was implemented on the Ptb as a counter to the 4man-slug insta kill mechanic.

    Not as a specific counter to slugging in general. As far as I know at least.

    Due to the mechanic being badly designed and unhealthy for the game, both got scrapped for the time being.

    I wouldnt be against a basekit unbreakable feature if the killer is slugging for the 4k though. It's boring. The survivor decides to stand up for the hatch to be closed.

    If the survivor last for a good time in chase, they could escape for all I care.

    A last chase would be more fun for me.

    Gate watching or hatch tbagging is the least fun in a match of dbd for me.

    Far more simple:

    Enable basekit UB only if more when atleast 2 survivors have been on the ground for atleast 20 seconds without getting hooked and make the yellow mori basekit.

    That enables Killers to still slug without getting needlessly punished in situations where its valid or even necessary and you'd get rid of a bad offering from the bloodweb.

    Something definitely needs to be done about it. I finally decided to play some solo queue again earlier today and I was bled out FOUR times in the span of two hours while the killer looked for the last survivor. I eventually just logged off because of how tedious it was staring at the screen unable to do anything. I don't want basekit unbreakable. Just give me the option to bleed myself out after 30 seconds or a minute of being slugged when there are two people left.

    I feel like people tend to conflate leaving another survivor or two on the ground while they look for the last one as “bleeding them out”. That is not being bleed out. That is a strategic play to get the last person and does not need fixing. It’s also not toxic. Bleeding out is where every single last survivor is on the ground and the killer is just standing there wasting all of y’all’s time. Of which this scenario is so ridiculously rare that it realistically isn’t a problem worth fixing. Base kit unbreakable was also terrible for the game and should never happen.
