So is this a Dredge thing actually a bug or not?
When inside a locker as Dredge, you can press M1 to break the lock. Interestingly, you even get a brief cooldown that immediately stops you from exiting/teleporting elsewhere (meaning the counterplay to Dredge still works).
I want official word on if this is a bug or not. If it is, this is the smoothest, most deliberate feeling bug I've ever experienced.

I don't think it really gives much of an advantage to the Dredge in chase or exiting lockers on top of survivors, it still occurs a cooldown as if you swung, i find it more of a 'QoL' feature while teleporting between lockers and one happens to be locked and you can deal with it there and then. Bug or not i don't know, but apparently this has been a thing for age's now, it's only now people have noticed it.

I have absolutely no idea. I hear claims that it's been there since release, other claims it's a bug---I just want someone to give something definitive.

Definitely a bug never existed till now but I love the tip ;)

Every so often a bug will come up that makes the game feel better to play and is ultimately harmless. Blast mine for most of it's existence, Twins getting fast switching and now this. It will almost certainly be patched like the others and we will all be very sad when it does.

What no I've tried it before it never worked for me
It should definitely become a mechanic but increase the time before you can act because it's 1s faster than default

yeah if you read his ability description, there is nothing about being outside of a locker even, it's just another case of misinformation running wild for so long that people think it's truth and this is a bug.
it's like when I search for something I always get reddit posts in first results and people there are so often wrong but still get upvoted to the top it's ridiculous, they just write something that makes sense and everyone upvotes it because it makes sense and seems likely but no one actually boots up game and checks. Same thing with steam discussions and forums like this one too. The only source you can trust is game itself, run a lobby and check.
if someone needs a 10000% proof it's in a video on youtube somewhere I'm sure, it's also possible to download old dbd client from steam(through download_depot command) and boot up a lobby to test it, I've done it with dota 2 a few times, steam keeps all versions of the game for many years. I've watched 2016 dota 2 replays(TI6) in 2020.
