When will we be stepping into Indie Horror?

We're pretty much done with all of the big name horror icons. With the exception of Jason and Pennywise. I know some people might say Child's Play but be honest with yourself that isn't happening.

Anyways, the demand for more indie horror is becoming more clear. Terrifier and FNaF obviously being some big ones. I think the most we've gotten from the indie scene is the legendary sets from CryptTV. I think that's fine for certain ones. I've had a discussion with somebody once about Bendy and the Ink Machine being a possibility. We both ended up agreeing that Dredge would probably just get a legendary for him. In those cases it's fine for legendaries since it's a waste to make a new character when we already have one that does the exact same thing.

I think the biggest hurdle is choosing the ones that are big enough to make a splash. Two I can think of would be Cry of Fear and Amnesia. But it's hard to really choose. I'm sure there's some other good indie horror slashers but I'm not into movies that much. There's a lot to choose from but not enough quality. Personally I would like Slenderman, but I can also see why some people think that's too silly. If we start doing creepypasta's, then what? Or imagine something like Poppy Playtime was added. Would Garden of BanBan be next? Some of these things are too out of place. Some of these things are garbage cash grabs. But DbD does need to broaden it's horizons pretty soon.

What would you want personally? It can be the dumbest or unlikely one you can imagine. I think it's good to start talking about it so the dev's have an idea on where to go.

Having Art from Terrifier in the game would be sick, but I'm not sure the devs want two different Clown (or Clown-adjacent, in Art's case) characters in the same game.

Personally I'd like to see some kind of cultish character from The Wicker Man.

In terms of indie horror, I’d really like to see some Puppet Combo representation in the game. Someone like the Driller Killer or the Nun from Power Drill Massacre and Nun Massacre, respectively.

Still my biggest want is Clock Tower (Scissorman) even though that’s not really indie, but besides that a Remothered chapter with the Red Nun would also be cool, being a series that’s directly inspired by the Clock Tower games.

Even though it’s a creepypasta, I still think Slenderman would be a cool addition. I even have some ideas for the powers for those that I’ve mentioned.

I think you're forgetting about one Mr. Candyman in terms of classic horror.

In terms of Indie Horror, I think it's a gamble for BHVR business wise. Licenses are (assumingly) expensive, and they have to be assured they'd make that money back. Capitalism!

As I said before, in a perfect world I would love a Bloodborne chapter. While not full on horror, I'd say it's just as horror if not more than something like Stranger Things. Father Gascoigne is a perfect candidate imo, but I sincerely doubt that would EVER happen.

If any indie horror games are to be included in DBD, then the following games should be considered.

    • Tormented Souls
    • The Coma 2: The Vicious Sisters
    • Afraid of Monsters
    • SOMA
    • Monstrum

I'd love to hear those power concepts if you have the time.

Candyman and Bloodborne would be amazing. I also think Gascoigne would be a good addition. I thought he'd be able to switch stances. His one handed axe would be normal killer stuff, but he'd be able to pepper survivors with his gun to stun them for a split second like the parries in the game. Two handed would make him slower but give him a short dash and extra range. All while his beast form builds up through out the trial. Maybe his daughters music box could hold it at bay, but using it too often turns him into beast form faster.
