What can be done about hate speech on official BHVR socials?

I'm just curious about the social media moderation team and wanted to ask because there's currently someone in the comments section admitting to targeting members of the LGBTQ+ community and admitting to using stream sniping programs to target TTVs, especially if they are also part of that community. I'm getting pretty tired of seeing slurs and harassment on official channels, but these social media platforms can't be relied upon to understand that saying you're going to "tunnel/facecamp/slug/etc an LGBT on purpose" is targeted harassment, and that much is reflected when reporting and getting the notice back that they didn't find any violations with those comments.

Do we DM the account with screenshots? So that maybe the team knows who to block from the social media pages, If not search their username(s) within the actual game player base and ban them for violating ToS with hateful conduct?

Well I certainly understand that steam players are able to submit clips, explanation and evidence of this kind of behavior alongside their in-game report, console players cannot.

I'm fully prepared to get flamed or called names for even asking this question. It's getting pretty old and I want to know how to do more to stop these pathetic people from staying in this game's community.

I don't think anyone is going to have a go at you for asking a question. It seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to ask.

I think it depends on the social media platform. If it’s FB, Instagram, Twitter, etc you would report the hate speech through their report system. If it’s on these forums, which are heavily policed, you could always DM a moderator.

Sadly most of the actions are almost entirely upon the social media (unless they give up their game account by accident i suppose), and they don't give a real #########. Especially not Twitter, they even reinstated an account recently that posted sexual content of children so you can imagine the chance of them taking any action.

I believe you can report hate speech anywhere to the authorities. I can't guarantee what results is always good, but I do know police tech has become a lot more sophisticated and that there are dedicated teams who deal with this.

As an example, STOP HATE UK has sections available to offer advice. The police can become involved towards threats of violence and similar. It can be a bit more than simply flagging it to the social media websites, especially with how weak some of their policing is.

I went against a TTV streamer and the guy dc’d and then started calling all of us slurs. I immediately reported him and he was banned. Not much you can do I personally have never heard of people targeting the lgtbq community (which I am a part of) on dbd, but I may have not had the same experience as you.

I would just use the sites given reporting features. As far as something Twitter goes, there isn't a ton BHVR can do other than hide it. It is up to the site moderation to actually decide to remove it or not.

If it's the same person I think it is, I'm p sure BHVR is doing everything they can to ban them to the point of hardware ID banning them and forcing them to try and circumvent it

Trust me when I say BHVR does at least try to deal with people who are genuinely the worst of the worst.

Maybe if they posted this on DBD's reddit page they'd get hate. Who knows?

I feel like if those things were really going on you would report them and they would get banned. That's harrassment under just about any ToS, no need to bring out the letters.

Any hateful or rule-breaking activity that you have mentioned can be reported to the platforms they occurred on; Steam comments to Steam, PS4/5 comments to PSN, XBox to XBox Live, the Report Functions on Instagram, Facebook, and other social platforms are responsible for the behavior of their platforms. That goes as well for Youtube videos & comments, and Twitch Chat & Streams to the sites as well, as they have rules regarding streamsniping, cheating, hate speech, etc.

And it goes without saying, any hate speech, threats, etc in the game (pre-game lobby or post-game lobby) should be reported under Communications Abuse (in-game report REQUIRED, Support Ticket Optional), as that is not tolerated whatsoever.
