PS4/PS5 version not merging DLC Nightmare Edition

Bought my brother who plays on PS5, the Nightmare Edition so he could play with the Stranger Things characters. We understand that the Nightmare Edition must be played on the PS4 version of the game, but the DLC purchased on the PS5 version of the game are not transferring to the Nightmare Edition.

example, I bought him Nicholas Cage before he got the Nightmare Edition so that DLC is avail on the PS5 account but not the PS4 disc when he switches over. This is what it says in the Nightmare Edition:

i sent a support ticket but only get copy paste messages back and forth and this is not fair. When he switches over to the PS4 copy of the game (not the disc) he has every DLC he purchased aside from those avail in the Nightmare Edition, the Nightmare Edition is where the issue is coming from.

The Nightmare Edition of DbD is a PS4 only product, the time has passed when this could be updated to the PS5 edition, there is no cross progression between these editions.
