Calm Spirit Sucks
The 30 percent speed reduction to actions isn't justified, the perk doesn't do anything spectacular. There are much stronger perks in the game without any drawbacks. Plus when you open a chest or cleanse/bless a totem it makes a very audible noise at the end anyways so it doesn't even do much.
Maybe removing the unnecessary speed reduction and making those interactions completely silent can help this perk.

This perk removes an entire killer tracking mechanic from the game, for the entire length of the game.
The downside should only be removed if the crow immunity is also removed. Just have the perk only prevent screaming, and have that be the entire effect of the perk.

I just don't understand these people that want things nerfed just because the other side uses them. If you at least thought about it a little - buffed calm spirit in this manner would still highly benefit killers, because it would still be awful perk, but maybe a few more people would run it (instead of something that is actually useful - like things people are complaining about - say made for this).
I don't care if devs buff the perk. It would still be bad even if they use OP's version. I just can't fathom why some people would be against buffing clearly absolutely useless perk into bad perk. Especially if we are talking about killer main (to clarify on a specific example - I would understand some survivors not wanting to buff say self care from 35% to 40% - because more people would bring it and because it would still be bad making net-result still worse then current version where less people bring it, but this is not the case as @Coffeecrashing is clearly just killer main)

One of the main goals of the first meta shakeup was to nerf stealth perks that are active for large portions of the game. This is why Iron Will, Spine chill, and Calm spirit were all supposed to be nerfed at the same time.
This is also why iron will was functionally reworked into Off the record, because 100% removing grunts of pain should be on a limited timer.
Survivors should not be encouraged into excessively hiding when they aren’t in a chase, and stealth perks should have limitations.

Bloodhound makes being injured too punishing actually, it shouldn't make a killer tracking mechanic that strong for the entire game. See, I can make silly complaints about bad perks too.

Why are you making stuff up? There was no anti-stealth revolution? They did a meta shakeup because some perks were used a lot and some didn't hence the word meta? Iron Will and Spine Chill were meta with a very high pick-rate and that's why they got nerfed not because they're stealth perks. On the other end Calm Spirit got "buffed" but even in it's "buffed" state it sucks and this is why I made the post to bring attention to it.

I really don't think Calm Spirit getting buffed is going to make Survivors entirely untrackable. The things Calm Spirit counters are relatively niche, it's just that the speed penalty heavily outweighs the benefit given to totems and chests and defeats the point of the buff.
Even without the speed penalty, it'd still be a relatively mid perk.
I don't think anything anyone says is going to change your mind though, as you seem to have a pretty big aversion to Calm Spirit for some reason.

The thing is Calm Spirit already has this function and it's not going to get changed. The point of my post is about silent actions and how it doesn't need a drawback if we look at the effectiveness and pickrate of the perk.

No. BHVR just sometimes don't understand their own game. They "sold" the change as buff - because they actually saw that calm spirit (and pharmacy) are in fact very much underperforming even in their stats. The thing is though, that given BHVR don't understand their own game sometimes - everyone in community universally agreed, that these supposed
buffswere actually nerfs - destroying already very bad perks even further. But you can check the patch notes yourself - they clearly thought they are buffing those perks.And sure enough - it would make sense to buff both of these perks to get to at least meh level (from their current garbage level). I am not talking about making them meta (like say calm spirit hiding all the aura without any condition or say pharmacy providing universal 99% heal time reduction). I am talking about buff in a sense, that if you get those perk in random perk challenge - that you wouldn't be immediately sad for having empty perk slot (or worse) even before the game starts.

They didn't give it a drawback because it had a high pickrate. They "buffed" and added a brand new function to it which is the silent interactions with chests and totems and they made it so there was a trade-off since you do them in silence. But the feature they added doesn't even accomplish much that justifies a drawback.
You are literally making stuff up by the way? There was no time frame where the perk had that function and didn't have the drawback. Patch 6.1.0.:

I disagree its useless, as a Killer I use some perks that causes screams and I also use evidence of crows either flying off or coming back to triangulate Survivor locations. You may do other things that counter act this special kind of stealth you get from it, but useless? from one perk? idd need more evidence to call it useless.

Can we use the same logic for Stridor, which was also labeled as a buff? We should allow Stridor to override -100% sound perks, because BHVR labeled the Stridor perk change as a buff? And it currently has a terrible pick rate, just like Calm spirit, so we should also remove the nerfed part of Stridor, and keep everything else the same, right?

"I use scream perks and that one time a survivor got Calm Spirit value" isn't much of an evidence either. I agree it does have use in very niche situations. But other than that it's a waste of a perk atm also considering it's drawback.

Pointing out double standards isn’t a whataboutism. If you have reasons why a survivor perk should be buffed, we should also be able to apply this to killer perks. Otherwise, you’re just making up fake reasons to buff a specific perk, that shouldn’t apply to other perks, because that would be inconvenient for you.
Calm spirit was nerfed and buffed at the same time. This was intentional. Do you honestly think BHVR intended the perk change to be a buff only? Like, BHVR made a major change, and has been oblivious that it lowered the pick rate?

Killer perks are a bit specific, because there's vastly more difference between 2 killers then 2 survivors. Like Iron Maiden is absolute trash-tier considering killer like Freddy. But there's also Bubba that actually promotes the perk to "meh" level. Considering killers like huntress/trickster, I would call the perk even "almost good". Similar situation to stridor - trash-tier on all killers but spirit (where it's meh).
Does that mean stridor is in a fine spot? Nope. It sure should get a buff (same as iron maiden when we are at it). But when considering buffs/nerfs, you have to think almost exclusively about spirit instead of say Nemesis. But if the perk is underperforming a lot even for killers that can use it's niche, then I am absolutely for buffing it (same as calm spirit and about 100 perks on both sides that are beyond useless). But the thing is - this thread is specifically about calm spirit.
And I have to wonder yet again what is the reasoning behind you not wanting the perk to be less trash-tier (and again - I am not even talking about making it good, just less trash).

I think someone prefers survivors to use 4 MFT or other Gen perks instead of 4 Calm spirit.
While there are grunting, blood, scratch mark and alot of killer's aura perks to use.

None of those things you've listed are my argument nor do I have to have an argument against someone who starts their "nerf calm spirit" campaign under my post with made up information.
As I said if Calm Spirit with its >0.8% pickrate is such a problem and a game-changer for you: you can create your own discussion to bring awareness to this obviously over-powered perk.

Survivors excessively hiding, is one of the biggest problems in the game. It’s partially the reason why the 3-gen scenarios keep happening, because killers won’t commit to a chase, and the survivors are excessively pre-leaving generators to hide.
Any perk that has massive uptime, that encourages survivors to excessively hide from the killer, even if they aren’t in a chase, should be nerfed into the ground, like calm spirit was nerfed.
There are so many complaints about camping and tunneling, and how the killers should be forced to chase other survivors, but at the same time people want stealth perks that just completely remove entire killer tracking mechanics. Yes, if a survivor is pre-leaving a generator because of the visual terror radius, and they’re leaving so early that the killer won’t see scratchmarks, then the killer absolutely deserves to see crow alerts to help them find where the survivor ran to. Because really, the real problem is survivors want to be able to run around the map without wanting to worry about crow alerts, instead of needing to slow down when they are near crows, if they want to hide where they went.

I appreciate your enthusiasm against Calm Spirit but there isn't much left to discuss or debate about this perk.

Well, they hide, they don't fix generators, heal, or do anything else and this is very useful for the killer

The problem is that survivors are demanding for BHVR to fix the 3 gen problem, which is happening partially because of survivors excessively pre-leaving generators so they can excessively hide….. but when survivors want 3 gens to be nerfed, they want 100% of the changes to be killer nerfs, even though survivors are partially to blame.

Calm spirit encourages survivors to excessively pre-leave generators when the visual terror radius shows an icon, and it encourages the survivors to just run far away, because they don’t need to worry about crow alerts. This means killers don’t have a reasonable chance at all of finding these survivors, and are instead encouraged to just kick the generator and patrol the generators some more. And when this cycle repeats itself, it just encourages the game to extend to ridiculous lengths as a 3 gen situation.
And 3 gen situations need to be fixed on both sides. Killers need to be encouraged to chase survivors, and survivors need to be encouraged to stop excessively hiding. And buffing calm spirit would just make the 3-gen situation even worse, and therefore should be avoided.

1) Buffing Calm spirit would encourage more people to play Calm spirit.
2) Calm spirit encourages survivors to excessively pre-leave generators at the first hint of a visual terror radius, and run far away, being fully aware their running won't trigger any crow alerts. This makes it excessively annoying to find the survivors, and encourages killers to just kick the generator and patrol the generators some more. And this encourages long 3 gen games, because the survivors are playing the same so safely that the generators aren't getting done, and the killer doesn't have a reasonable chance to get into a short ranged chase with a survivor.

I don't see any sense in that, the developers said they are working on a solution for (3 gens)
So once it is fixed this perk is not a problem for you anymore

Stealth is now considered toxic, apparently. Well, sorry for all those times I hid behind a tree because I'm not a god-tier looper who can hold the killer's attention for 30 minutes. I truly am the disease that is destroying Dead by Daylight.
To speak seriously and on-topic: as a compulsive chest-opener and totem-breaker, I'd love to have the downside of this niche perk removed so I can run it and do those things at the same time without unnecessary inconvenience.

i have to laugh. this logic is funny. this is like "I do not like how my opponent is playing, nerf it". with this type of attitude on every perk, every perk would be ineffective...

Personally I'd prefer the silencing aspect to be all encompassing. Plague puking? Silent. Clown gas coughing? SIlent. Creepy crawlies of Wesker's Ourobouros? Silent. Any Killer specific sound effect still has all of its mechanical effects, just no sound cues for them. Plague with the Iri add-on would still see the Survivor's aura when puking, but you wouldn't hear them through the wall.

Remove the negative they attached to the perk and make it silence all these killer interaction sounds. You could also include the sound of using the Plague fountains and opening vaccine boxes. Basically all sounds interacting with a killers tools on the map or their ability.

Everytime there's an update I'm baffled the calm spirit "buff" hasn't been reversed. Like, if they're too lazy to actually buff it they should at least let us have the old version back.
The new effect is useless because of the drawback and I don't want to risk bringing it for the old effect in case the killer is a hex / pentimento player.

Or even worse - face the darkness+thrill of the hunt (cleansing would take 30s, but you scream/get interrupted each 25s). It would mean you just can't cleanse the totem ever while someone is injured. Like this combo is very rare to see these days, but imagine bringing calm spirit into this build....

Still - there's no good reason to bring the perk considering it's bonus comes to play even more rarely, then the malus it provides (or said in a different way - it would make more sense making current calm spirit killer perk that forces it's effects on survivors. It would be absolute garbage of a perk, but it would be still better then the version we have)
