Skull Merchant Rework

The Skull Mechant's Power is way too defensive. Making players completely ignore chase and making matches go way too long. My goal for this rework is to try to make the skull merchant have a power that incentives the Skull Merchant to chase the survivors.

Skull Merchant Rework

Drones

When placing a drone, the drone starts in scouting mode. When a survivor is detected by scouting mode the drone will then force a Claw Trap on the survivor. Claw Traps allow the Skull Merchant to see your exact location once the Claw Trap is Activated.

Claw Traps

Once a Scout Drone detects a survivor the survivor will have a Claw Trap forced onto them. The Skull Merchant Will Recieve a noise that indicates that a Claw Trap has been forced on to a survivor. Claw Traps Will not show your exact location until the Claw Trap becomes Active. It takes 20 Seconds for a Claw Trap to become Active. Once a Claw Trap is Active the Skull Merchant can now see your exact location. When A Survivor Vaults a Pallet with an Active Claw Trap the Pallet breaks making the Claw Trap lose half of its battery.

For Each Claw Trap on a Survivor, The Skull Merchchant Gains the following effects.

  1. Each Active Claw Trap will reduce the Skull Merchants terror radius by 4 Meters 4/8/12/16 leaving the Skull Merchant with a 16-meter terror radius when all survivors have an active Claw Trap.
  2. Each Active Claw Trap gives the Skull Merchant 3%/5%/7%/8% Haste when out of Chase. This means when all Survivors have an Active Claw Trap on, The Skull merchant is 8% Faster when outside of Chase. The Skull Merchant losses the haste when She enters Chase.
  3. Each Active Claw Trap gives the Skull Merchant an extra 10% lunge while in the chase for each Active Claw Trapped Survivor 10%/20%/30%/40% up to a maximum of 40% The Skull Merchant does not have the extra lunge distance when outside of Chase.

Add ons

Now that drones no longer have an active mode. The Skull Merchant can get some new add-ons that are completely defensive like Silent Skill checks. But Rather she Can Have add-ons that make her terror radius shrink even more or make the battery last longer so survivors continue to feed her haste and extra lunge distance.

Rework Conclusion

These changes allow the Skull Merchant to Pick up more consistent info on survivors' locations since Claw Traps are now forced onto survivors. It also gives the skull merchant the tools to do something about the info she gains. If she's really far away the haste will make her get over there more quickly. But to make sure she doesn't run over survivors too quickly once the chase starts the speed will be gone but in return, survivors will have to drop or get the pallets way quicker because that lunge distance will come to bite them.

No more Exposed Status effects, No more 3 Gens with silent skill checks

Reminder all of this is an idea and any of these functions can be changed or altered. Please share your ideas because bhvr knows that this killer is gonna need a rework and not some small band-aid fixes.

    It was late at night when I typed this so if it says a claw trap does anything it first needs to be active to achieve any sort of benefit. Please remember that the numbers can be tweaked and this is just an idea that can be changed.

    so now i have to look at floor to stay outside of chase to gain haste effects... like old deep wound legion.
