Where did we go wrong?

“DS would only hit a killer if they were actually tunneling” tell that to my 1000 or so games where a survivor forced me to down them while their team rushed the open exit gate, forcing me to pick up to try and secure a kill only for ds to hit. Also, you expect me to just not tunnel in EGC? I’m not going to just not hit them because “oh i don't wanna tunnel” im going to secure my kill instead of just letting them go free for no reason

Blights still can switch target now they just risk they might lose/tie but get instead lot of hooks and still some kills. Ruin/undying sounds too ez win on blight. I figure hex ruin could be buffed now like 130/140/150 regression and it would be fine. But 200 was too muchnand whatever the combo... But even if ruin was 500% and not a hex some blights would still tunnel. I see blights who tunnel 3vs1 at 5 gens...

Skipping reading all the hot takes to post the answer: whenever BHVR made the internal descicion that there'd be absolutely no consequences whatsoever for survivors bullying/hijacking games. So, pretty early on.

Dam bro we run the same perk 😢

I -literally- specified: "OUTSIDE of EGC usage".

Crossplay. Because that’s when console killers got to meet PC survivors who can 360 with a flick into a pallet loop that’s connected to a building. I also think that’s when they added more pallets in general.

so your upset they made it so the perk wasn’t 60 seconds of god mode. Or are you upset they made good on a promise they mode 2 years prior to nerf the timing?

For all of its problems, DBD is in the best shape it has ever been in.
What that actually says is another issue, however.

And in those two years, it received a different, critical nerf that shunted it from being an OP perk to -the- solution to tunnelling. It was -almost- perfect in its design. That promised stun duration nerf was for old old DS. Back when it still allowed you to actually do stuff for your team without losing it. Back when it was actually 60 seconds of godmode. That is not the same DS that copped the nerf two years later.

But things are going up?...

The Freddy rework

Because the game is balanced in such a ridiculous way, that without camping and tunneling, the vast majority of killers are not viable at high level play. I think tunneling and camping should not be "fought" or "nerfed" but REMOVED ENTIRELY and we balance the game around hooks, not kills. Game would be much more fun for both sides that way.

I agree. There's been changes for sure, some minor and some major, but change isn't always for the worst. Some people though don't cope well with change - just a fact, not a judgement.

The assumption you are making is that things are going wrong. According to who? From my perspective, things are vastly better than they were a couple years ago. I stopped playing for about a year and a half. I came back after I got a PS5 and was really impressed with the changes during that time. The change to the prestige system alone is a massive step in the right direction and was perfectly executed. Lots of weaker perks got bumped up and OP perks got toned down. Maybe you just need a break from the game to get some perspective.

Won't be possible. If the game would be balanced around hooks, then a game where killer gets 7 hooks should count as a win. But people don't see that way. They don't go into survivor match and think "damn, I escaped but I've been hooked twice, I've lost clearly". This approach goes against the very nature of the game.

The beauty of BT is, that it stacks with basekit BT. So if you see a lot of killers count it out, then just start equipping it again.
Uhm DS wouldn´t deactivate when a survivor hugged a gen. So survivors would get off the hook, go straight for the gen and repair in the killers face. Knowing full well that he has to eat it. That wasn´t a healthy perk. We had tons of "lets bully the killer" montages with DS. Ironically, most of them died down shortly after DS was nerfed. Almost as if their whole "skill" was being carried by a single perk.
Only thing i would change on DS is give it back its 5 second stun. Apart from that its fine now.

100% regression is 1/4 of the time a single survivor requires to repair. Hell even the 200% wasn´t really a threat. As it would have taken 160 seconds to fully regress a gen at almost 100% with the old Ruin.
And i´ve seen insidious basement blights. This doesn´t mean that every blight plays like that.

First sbmm and then a bunch of perks that took them TOO LATE to tune them down..
And they are too concerned right now creating content for the ""future"" rather than focusing on the present.. they need to change the way they develop this game and start focusing on more often changes.. not a 1 year thing yeah every 5-8 months a perk shake up or addons, items or even killer rework it's so slow and bad for a game like this.. but of course this isnt gonna happen despite promises of doing changes more often on every anniversary..

Nobody said that, in case you forgot this is a public forum where people express their opinion which I was giving my opinion on where I felt the game went wrong, imagine having no life to the point you feel the need to insult someone for sharing a opinion that was asked in the thread

I think you're confused on the patch numbers then.
6.1 was the stun nerf that made it useless. What you're talking about is pre-4.6 DS, which is not at all what I was referring to.

Uhm no. That was 6.1.
- Decisive Strike
- Added: The perk and its effects are disabled if the exit gates are powered.
- The perk is now disabled when the Survivor performs a Conspicuous Action (Defined earlier in the patch notes under the Gameplay section)
- Stun duration is now 3s down from 5s
0 - Decisive Strike
-
Nope. 6.1. is when they -named it- a conspic action. Prior to 6.1, DS already had these deactivation conditions, this was just before the term 'Conspicuous Action' was coined because DS was the only perk where it applied.
From the wiki:
Patch 4.6.0
- Nerf: added several Deactivation conditions to prevent the use of Decisive Strike as a temporary immunity shield while progressing objectives, which was not the Perk's intended use.
And yes, those 'several deactivation conditions' includes 'repairing a generator'.

Oh damn, you´re right. My bad.
Btw. i LOVE how i have to look up patch notes on the wiki instead of the official site, because all patch notes get deleted after a certain time...

There's so much stuff that's only on the wiki. At least DBD is not quite as bad in that regard as some other games, like Destiny or Warframe.

The game is in a FAR better state now than it's been for most of its life. Do you think it was better when mori worked on first/second down, or survivors had zero info on their teammates? How about survivors solo healing at blazing speeds?

Since Billy stopped flying, that's when all our dreams died.
Edit: Also when they took away Jerryl. They took away the snitch horse only to come back with Knight, SM, and whatshisface.

Never said that. Also never said i thought the game was going downhill. This is a thread for people to state if and when they think it went downhill. Chill out
