What really happened to cosmetic descriptions?

This has been a pretty prevalent topic around reddit, but not much here. I wanted to bring it to light here where the devs are more involved.

Cosmetics used to have descriptions that give life to the characters. Showing different times in their lives, different realities of their character, different things the characters have gone through. Basically they gave us backstory, pretty hefty amounts of it. Enough that theory videos even used to pick trhough cosmetics for more lore to use. And it was great... and now we have this.

Like, I get that there's a lot to do in making a game, but is putting some thought into a sentence or two that big of a workload? Not that this one thing matters as much as most other things in the game, but you have to admit it's a little disappointing to see. We went from amazing potent chunks of backstory to "They wore the clothes, because they were clothes." While I know the backstories of characters have gotten significantly longer over the years, it still sucks that we only really get to see the one story. So, I just wanted to ponder as to why this is the case? Has BHVR fired some people, or have these just been deemed to be not worth the effort in the workload? Let me know your thoughts on this, do you think cosmetic descriptions are an important part of DBD?
