PC (steam) Cross Play issues

I wanted to try pc only and disable cross play for a few matches, now I want to turn it back on and can't. I've unistalled and reinstalled and it changed nothing despite is supposedly meant to "automatically turn on" when it is installed.

I'm not sure where else to post this as most research I've done says it should all be working so is this like a pc bug?
