Blast Mine & Wiretap Activation changes.

Why was the activation for these two abilities changed? It's really unintuitive to stop working on the generator to put the bloody things on them. I could see the potential of the change, but even running past a generator to put a mine on a generator as a booby trap still requires you to go into the working animation. It would be best to revert this change or straight up rework activation, personally rooting for the former.

Yeah I agree, it's unintuitive and just feels weird to not be working on it while applying Blast Mine.

it would be better if it just press E next to a gen within 2 meters.

If it worked as a proximity bomb so you can attach it without the animation, so it's an actual trap; that's the potential I see. But it also makes it a tad powerful. Other than that, Wiretap was already an underused ability and this change just made it unusable and not worth the effort.

I also hope they give us separate buttons for these 2 perks: "E" for blast mine, and "F" for Wiretap, for example. Let us choose when we want to activate each of them, please :(

    Chemical trap is the reason

I'm no programmer (yet) but it looks like all the trap perks operated on the same logic and when they made chem trap they needed to make it so you could place a trap without being in an interaction otherwise you'd have no way to put a trap on a pallet

I'd call it spaghetti code but I don't think it's that, bad code maybe

Exactly, we need mappable buttons for all 4 perk slots. Even if we don't have that circumstance now, eventually it will be needed.

Doubtful because the description for both perks were changed to fall in line with the new activation requirements. Spaghetti code or not, it's still a deliberate change.

Let's say you are actually making something or working on something in life. Do you really stop working on it, ruining your flow; to then apply a tool for a microcosmic second and get off to get back to working on it? This analogy only works if you have inspect the object you are working on to see if it goes wrong, not to add a new element in the mixture.
