Disable crossplay with Epic.
There should be an option to specifically prevent you from playing against Epic Games Store users.
Thanks to BHVR's genius idea to give away DBD for free on Epic for an entire week, cheaters can use millions of free accounts to ruin other people's matches without suffering any consequences, as banning those accounts is pointless due to the sheer number of them.
I have had many games where the teleporting killer insta-hooked all 4 survivors in the basement or where the survivors completed all gens in 1 minute.
And these blatant cheaters have always been Epic users.
Currently disabling crossplay removes the BP bonuses and stops you from playing against console users, despite the latter being practically unable to cheat.
The least BHVR could do after their colossal mistake is to let us disable crossplay *only against Epic users*, without removing the BP incentive bonus.

Exactly how do you know who's on Epic or not?
I'm on Xbox, so in most matches pretty much everyone appears as a CrossPlay globe to me. I'm assuming you're on Steam, so wouldn't Epic players have that globe as well for you?

And legit epic players will get punished instead the other way around. Nice solution.

simply, you search the username on epic. these bots all have the same name followed by a number.
so far i could confirm about 5000 of these bot names.

Not really worth it to punish legit Epic-players with such a drastic measurement against Cheaters. The game costs 3-4 bucks, this is not much difference to a free account considering that cheaters can probably run around for weeks before their account gets banned.

I guess I don't do much searching of any players. Don't really know how, or what to do with those on Anonymous Mode either.

Legit Epic users got the game for free, so they shouldn't complain too much. They can still play against other Epic users, which there are hundreds of thousands of.
Right now you are punishing non-Epic players who have paid for the game. I suggest to punish people who didn't pay and lose nothing.

The game is not free anymore on Epic. So you would also punish people who paid for it.

In the epic launcher you can find people by this:
There is no way how to tell what platform anonymous people playing on.

I'm afraid I do not know what an Epic launcher even is. Prolly not something on my Xbox. Appreciate the input though. 😀

The Epic Games Store is a video game digital distribution service and storefront for PC operated by Epic Games. The Epic Games launcher application allow players to purchase games, install and keep their games up to date.
Basically the direct competition to Steam on PC.

I play on epic (no cheats obviously), and without even talking about being stuck with cheaters I'd rather not be forced to have absolutely trash MMR because there aren't a lot of us.
Cheaters took advantage of the Epic sales but there's still a bunch of them on other platforms. Most cheaters I've seen were on Stadia or Steam. I'm not saying there aren't a lot on Epic, but this just sounds like it would make the game awful for regular Epic players without fixing the cheater problem for anyone.
