Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

BeHavior Studio ideas that reach outside the box for DBD

New gameplay formats to choose from. Some random ideas might be:

6 players vs 2 killers with 7 gens?

A timed match with less gens to complete?

A gameplay match where the players may only use that character's vanilla perks?

What about a gameplay lobby that randomly chooses your character, and available perks, but not items or add-ons? A sort of Russian Roulette lobby, with a great reward like +%50 bloodshards if you win?

Russian Roulette could even be a lobby where everyone has every character unlocked, (even if they didn't purchase it) and every perk is level 3, so they occasionally have a random shot at playing someone they never have before, or a perk they've never tried, in a public match?

--------------------------------------------------------------

What about messing with the ability and items so they're not uniform with a few characters. Some random ideas might be:

Having a survivor with some built-in "abilities" that make them really compelling to play, but no way to choose any other perks as a drawback.

Having a survivor who's able to carry more than one item, or more than one add-on for an item, who has limited perks; like say two items but only two perks can be equipped. Or another survivor who can't ever have items, nor pick up any, and can't search chests, but has four perks to choose from?

What about having a killer who can only select two perks, but changes into another killer each time a survivor is killed? A morph killer, like a Chest Monster or Mimic who becomes different killers in your collection throughout the match? That would be really difficult to navigate for the survivors, and they'd be forced to adapt on the go.

Maybe a killer who can choose four perks to use, but has no add-ons? (Obviously this would take some workarounds for the bloodweb, such as random add-ons for every other killer appear on the web, and unlock for that respective killer, instead of the one who can never use add-ons.) The reverse would be interesting as well: a killer who can use four or add-ons, but have less than 3 perks to choose for their build.

For the multiple killers in a trial, imagine going against both chainsaw bros? Or a Blight and a Nurse? Or a Skully and a Knight?

The worst offender would be two killers both playing as Nemesis. While developing Nemesis they tried out an iri add-on that spawned in a third Zombie. It tanked game performance so badly they scrapped the idea and changed the add-on.

Since they likely develop using badass PC's and they couldn't make it run reasonably, imagine that on the consoles. Prolly straight up melt a Switch.

    Double Rapid Condemned Sadako.

Two Blights who camp an exit each.

Doctor to locate Survivors and Nurse to dispatch them.

Myers Tier 3 Exposes all survivors, then Wraith sprints about knocking them all down in one go.

They're good ideas for a different game. DBD is far too developed in it's own format for this to work. These separate game modes would have to be so far removed from what DBD is already that it may as well be called DBD 2, which isn't a bad idea in itself.

Other than the Perk Roulette idea. That I 100% think should be an option. We already have it as an archive challenge so why not?
