Has anyone experienced a bug regarding item skillchecks?

So a month ago when I played dbd I tried to hit a skillcheck on a toolbox and it didn't work, like I hit it, but it didn't register. That's been happening to any skillchecks regarding an item, even after the item's been consumed like for the toolbox as example if I don't let go of right click and hold left click to continue the gen the skillchecks won't hit. I found a (temporary) fix where you let go right at the start of the skillcheck, hit the skillcheck and quickly hold the button again so that you don't get collateral from letting go. I've tried changing my hotkeys, reinstalling the game and I'm lost. I've contacted customer support now so hopefully I'll get it fixed soon
