Freddy (The Nightmare) Add Ons and Thoughts

Freddy hasn't been very strong or interesting killer for both sides and with his last update 2 years back in 4 May 2021 (Patch 4.7.0). As a resulting Freddy is the 3rd least played killer despite being licensed. He is still my favorite killer in DbD and I write this with a love and a hope that the right person will see this and some changes will come his way for the better.

With all the recent changes to Sadako and The Skull Merchant (Skull Merchant's changes going live today lol.) I thought now would be a good time to ask for some changes for Freddy since his add ons don't have a real identity or much effectiveness in their ability to alter his power in any meaningful way, both in gameplay and passive effects resulting an already weak killer having a very limited choice in add ons.

This along with his power's lack of interesting counter play weak add ons with little variety makes for an unpopular and as most people say "boring" killer. For costing real money, Freddy deserves changes.

Swing Chains: The sounds of footsteps are 50% louder, Jump Rope: The sounds of grunts are 50% louder and Outdoor Rope: The sounds of generators can be heard from a further 8 meters away. These add ons don't Really do anything, and serve no real purpose.

Paint Thinner, Prototype Claw and Garden Rake: Replace Dream snares with Dream Pallets each giving 7 tokes/pallets with (Paint Thinner reveals survivors auras who interact with pallets for 6 seconds, Prototype Claw 4 seconds). These are very unique concept but are much weaker than dream snares since survivors can keep track of broken pallets avoiding loops and or areas with them all together (this being even easier for swfs talking on coms).

Green Dress, Blue Dress, Wool Shirt: increases healing and repairing penalties by 4% with (Green Dress revealing survivors who trigger penalties auras for a duration of 4 seconds, and Green Dress 3 seconds). Rarely do survivors fail skill checks in high mmr even with the addition of overcharge, oppression, merciless, coulrophobia, unnerving presence etc. Rarely will it make a difference between a generator or heal being complete.

Nancy's Sketch, Nancy's Masterpiece: Increases Freddy's teleportation recharge for each survivor asleep with (Nancy's Sketch having a 2% bonus for each survivor and Nancy's Masterpiece having 3%) You Honestly won't notice or feel the difference and they just feel very weak over all.

Z Block, Cat Block: Inflicts survivors who interact with dream snares/pallets with hemorrhage (Z Block's hemorrhage duration being 90 seconds and leaving a blood trail regardless of survivor health state and Cat Block being only inflicting hemorrhage for a duration of 60 seconds and not leaving a blood trail) They don't make any difference even in hit and run place styles since hemorrhage doesn't reduce healing speeds only makes them regress. A survivor inflicted will go and heal either themselves or get healed by their teammates with very little difference.

These are some problems I see with Freddy and by no means am I trying to be insulting, these are just the problems I see with Freddy and I hope pointing them out and starting a discussion Freddy's might be changed and become popular than he is.

To add some positivity I'll point out some things I like about Freddy, His unique Lullaby and dream world design with falling ash, and his Teleport and dream snares are faithful to the movie and how he can appear (and disappear) from different directions. His Pill Bottle: decreases his visibility range can be interesting with monitor and abuse/furtive chase and Class Photo: all the gens spew blood while teleporting. Black Box is one of the most unique add ons in the entire game and Red Paint Brush: all survivors star off in the Dream World will decrease his teleport cooldown much better than both any other add on and over all make Freddy's power much smoother to play.

If you've read this far; Thank you for reading.
