Thoughts on Hug-Tech?

I get the feeling devotees of Blight are desperately afraid any changes made could sent him down the Billy path or worse, and that's not good for anyone honestly.

Weakening nurse without changing anything about her is fairly easy actually, give maps more high line of sight blockers so it is easier for survivors to break line of sight, most m1 killers don't really get bothered by that since they can just follow the scratch marks, whereas nurse needs to blink to catch up and therefore decide where to blink to... I m not saying they should plant ever map with such things, I'm just saying it is not impossible.

Thoughts?
No skill exploit, that takes 1-2 games to master. + Character that is supposed to bump is sliding, like it does not make sense.
I would understand keeping it on wesker since it's extremely hard to do and requires you do pixel perfect dash instead of just looking down like a bot.

Wesker maps are the core mechanics that I mean. But I dont think that making them weaker will not influence Blight and the likes at all.

I am hoping this Blight nerf does not end with buff like Nurse's case. And i don't want him nuked as well because i am actually enjoying against him.
What i am asking for, just make him balanced. Take his op add-ons, make speed add-ons are not stackable or at least reduce the speed from these add-ons.

I personally dislike knightlight and the bunch a lot. But still not wrong. I think however, that they due to them playing more in a private setting play against more casual survivors.
Again.... I have no problem with differences in power level. Just not THAT big.

Nurse is still a "if she plays it right, you get hit killer". All the survivor can do is make her predict and mindgame her. This is made worse because she can traverse everything and ignore core elements like windows and pallets. I think she could be tuned down in terms of perks.
I think certain perks that stun her like ds or head on should also reset her power.
Aura read is also a free hit for Nurse. Especially on indoor maps. All the player needs to do is connect the dots.
That's what my experience has been at least.
What you propose would help. Just not as much I feel.

his lethal rush lunge hitbox is so strange. It starts out with almost no range, but is very wide, then elongates and thins into being closer to a normal hitbox. its so odd.

BHVR's policy on exploits confuses me and makes me sad. i wish I knew skybilly existed back when it was a thing... I dont get why they hate killers getting into goofy spots.

They basically win 99% of killer games they play, I don't think they play against more casual survivors, also as data miners already found out you really don't need many games to get to the soft cap mmr. Especially Hens plays mostly public... Knightlight often scrims yes, but most of the games he plays on stream are still so I don't think your assumption is correct.
I understand, but then again the skill required between Billy and Legion is also huge, so it cannot be just a small difference in how good a certain killer is.

The problem is what perks are you supposed to run on Nurse? All there is for her is Slowdown and Aura Read, nothing else makes any sense on her...
There is always a correct choice when playing killer just that most of the time you don't know beforehand if you did the correct thing. The line of sight breaking and the need to blink kind of balances out her strenght the problem is more likely that people just don't know what to do against Nurse, I for example like going against Nurse bc it is a win win for me, either the Nurse is loopable or it is a god nurse and the game goes fast, and to not get out against a god nurse is fine, because that guy is clearly better than I am, so kind of fair.
I would like if there was a 1v1 mode to get better in chases, without the need to find people to scrim against, but alas so many things they could add but won't for whatever stupid reason, custom games, different game modes, 1v1, and so on would all help to attract player without much effort if you just let the community work out mods and such...

A change like that just means the Nurse runs aura perks and ruins the game for ranged killers. Bad change.
1 -
I didn't say it was a good one either, I just said it is not impossible to make changes. Also there is like two sorts of perks for a Nurse to run 1. Aura reading/Information perks 2. Slowdown perks... So you have the choice of a 2-4 min game where the nurse slaughters you or a 5-10 min game where the nurse still slaughters you, if she is that good, I would take the first one... Also this change wouldn't really change much... Since most nurses run a combination of those two... I agree though it would make it harder for ranged killers, but then again they can still get hits if the structures are like jungle gyms with openings and such.

Ehh more of a non-issue. People saying "it makes more tiles playable" just isn't true as a good blight player can make basically any tile playable.

In skill expression i was meaning watching a blight slide around the entirety of killer shacks outside and hitting a survivor. Or hugteching around other big structures. Sure you can use it on the easier loops to. Which is again still is partially skillfull since you have to use it at the right time when the survivor opens themselves up to it.

Name checks out.

Sure does.

Then allow me to elaborate so if you play blight you too can experience / notice them, the not having a hitbox bug is in the same line along the normal lunge out of power bug, its a frame perfect input that gives you no hitbox on your attack, can't hit survivors or pallets and its very noticeable if it happens at a pallet, it only happens if you attack right after starting a rush.
Extra no recharge happens when you bump then rush and break a pallet in a very short amount of time, your power will just refuse to recharge at all for ~8 seconds which can be absolutely brutal when you want to rush but just can't because it doesn't recharge for an extra 6.5s
Extra cooldowns happen when you use compound 33, the breaking pallets with it is extremely buggy so sometimes if you start a rush after breaking a pallet using compound 33 (usually 1 charge breaks) the game says you should be in cooldown right now, immediately ends the rush with a cooldown
Most of these bugs relate to playing fast and while they are rare / circumstantial they do add up over the course of a game, I usually see 1-2 of them per game

is the power not recharging for a while the shoelace bug?
0 -
its not quite that, if you attack right after rushing sometimes it just has no hitbox at all ive had an entire lunge against a point blank cornered survivor do nothing while staring directly at them

Should curve billy be allowed? Certainly it wasn't intended that billy could do a 90+ degree curve around a corner.
This type of thing is actually good for the game because it adds depth to the game. In games, it often is the "unintended things" that actually make the game have more lasting power.
Look at games like Marvel vs Capcom, that game's scene exists because of all the crazy bugs and glitches they found.
Look at Smash Bros. An entire competitive scene was built around a game that was designed to be the next mario kart because of a few bugs and glitches.
Halo 1, the pistol was unintended to be as strong as it was, it was "just a side arm" after all, you started with the AR equiped, but because people got good with hitting headshots, it redefined the genre such that now you'd be hard pressed to find a game without a BR style rifle that is a staple of the game.
Bunny hopping in Half-life and CS was certainly a bug, and led to a whole mechanic of traversing the map that spawned new custom games bhop maps, and surf maps.
Air acceleration in quake was completely unintended, but redefined the shooter genre into the fast paced action that "boomer shooters" offer.

Can confirm, got bullied by a Dwight on Gas Heaven whilst trying to do it.

Better to fix the core mechanics to bring up the 25+ killers that need it, then individually deal with the 2-3 killers that are too powerful rather than the reverse which takes far longer and requires tweaks to nearly every killer.
Also, there are plenty of things that can be done to fix the game at high levels of play without hurting low level play and BHVR has done it before.

The shoelace bug is when you go for a rush and blight goes into the rush animation for a split second then goes back into fatigue and must inject serum and wait for recharge again. It literally looks like he trips on untied shoelaces as soon as you go to rush.
I get this bug the most out of any of them. Especially when using ring.

Hug techs will not work on actual good survivors. I’ve been preaching this! Lol

It's pretty safe to say that Curve Billy is not an exploit. When you start the chainsaw you have 0.75 seconds of increased sensitivity (412°/s). After that, his turn rate is decreased to 32°/s. If it wasn't intended, then he this wouldn't be a thing. He was specifically designed that way. The devs knew that players would use this increased turn rate somehow. This is neither an oversight nor an exploit.
Blight's Hug Tech on the other hand was obviously not intended. They didn't design him specifically to be able to slide off walls. It's a flaw somewhere in Blight's code, that makes him unable to bump under certain circumstances. But because he still has the momentum of the rush and his body's hitbox makes it impossible for him to move through objects, he moves to the side.
It's kind of similar to Billy being unable to hit survivors sometimes. There are ways to safely bodyblock a Hillbilly and stop his chainsaw without getting hit. Because for some reason when Billy doesn't move for a set period of time while using the chainsaw, the game ends it automatically. Something blocks your path and there are only 3 options for what can happen. Either you bump, slide off, or get stuck (mostly happens between 2 unhittable objects). Technically, the chainsaw doesn't collide with the object, so you don't bump. But your own body does collide with it, so you can't go through.

It's been a while, what's hug-tech again?
0 -
It’s where you can slide off of particular tiles / objects by bouncing off the / an object, and getting close to the object before starting your next rush, allowing you to glide across the surface.

It's all an echo chamber ok? Everyone is guilty about complaining about something

Knightlight just enjoys to make other players feel as miserable as possible and takes the game way too seriously. Sorry if this was too blunt. I can't really look up to a player like that.
Billy is in my opinion the hardest killer in dbd. Sadly he doesn't outperform Legion that much. Even when played really well.
1 -
Agree.

I mean what do you expect him to do? Play worse on purpose? Why should he drag out games even, I mean people in pubs are not going to outskill him anyway. You can think of him personally wise what you want, but you cannot deny his skill in the game.
Yeah true, which is why Billy should get a major buff...

Its the reason why Blight is popular, because its fun.
I dont mind it. Just rework some addons and thats it

yep fun bug

Not a fan of bugs in general, whether that be the giga male vaults we had, the no drop stagger vaults, bug tech on Blight, Oni flick to go greater than 180 degrees, Wesker bugs (for and against), and more. I don't take issue with them if they are accepted by the devs and integrated into the game (like maybe a faceslide add-on for Wesker/Blight), but its kinda like phasing through a wall, clearly not intended and shouldn't be used. Then some people get used to abusing bugs like the anti-stagger vault, and whine when it actually is going to get fixed because they got used to their excessive and undeserved power.
