PC - I haven't tested it more than once, but I loaded into a game as Pinhead and could not use the Possessed Chain power the entire game. I did find the box using Lethal Pursuer, and I did not check if the power worked before I picked up the box. It didn't even give me the option to right click or anything, so I just had to play the game as an M1 killer.
