Can't join party PC <-> XSX

My husband couldn't join my game on XSX. He plays on PC (Steam). We both closed games and restarted and he still couldn't join. I tried to join his game, but he was showing to be "offline" when he was not. He tried to invite me but I never got the invitation.
We restarted our systems completely but it still the same thing. He checked his online status on Steam as did I on my console, but we were both showing "online" in our end.
This happened immediately when the new Tome opened
