Why are animations so wonky?

I can't be the only one to think this, but the animation feel so old and clunky. Most of the time I feel like my character is a robot that snaps into different animations. Vaulting windows and pallets also feels clunky. Your character's physical body is across the pallet but technically they're still not across it, so you end up getting hit anyways.

It would be nice if the animations were updated to be more fluid after all this time. I get that they have changed them in the past but for some reason the characters don't feel alive in game.

In F13 you could see the fear in the survivors they felt like real people. The only time you get a sense of personality for the survivors is their lobby animations. When you get in game they feel like robots with clunky animations.

Also the head animations are weird. Why am I looking forward but my character is looking at the ground and makes weird head movements?

This was just a ramble tbh, not expecting anything to change but I wanted to see if others also felt the same.

To comment on the F13 comparison, DbD made the conscious decision to let the player’s fear take priority over their character’s.
