What's with all the "Nerf Dredge!" Discussions
Did you guys also realize an influx of "Nerf Dredge!" discussions? What's going on? The current tome naturally raised the number of Dredge players since they want to complete challenges but what is so overpowering and unbearable about them? I always found them a fun and fair Killer to go against and they have cool powers and tricks they can pull off that require practice. Why are we trying to get average M1 Killers nerfed when we could be focusing on those who can actually be busted in certain scenarios like Blight? We should be having stronger M1 Killers instead of nerfing them and forcing everyone to only play "S-Tier" Killers. Thoughts?

Its definitely tome related.
I assume most players don't see him much then get a bunch of them in a short space of time get killed a lot demand nerfs.
Opinions on wesker wildly vary but the reason most ask for nerfs to him is because of how much they see him.
I have never played as dredge myself doesn't really appeal to me (did get the chapter on release) will probably give him a go at some point during the tome, never had an issue playing against one

Due to the tome and its three challenges Dredge now gets played a fair bit and people realise how much they hate a non-played killers power and call for nerfs, because its "totally unfun", "extremely unfair" and "utterly OP! OMG how can such an ability be left in the game? Wake up sheeple!".

Most of the players are on his nightfall because it annoys them and may be a problem for some people with certain illnesses, which would not be bad to actually fix the game settings. There is not one reason why it would be worth weakening it, but there are many reasons to allow the players to better costamize the game for themselves:someone in general does not like the brightness of the game and they would like to change it, but even so the mechanics that should interfere with the game should continue to interfere with them.
If you want to make it more comfortable, then why not.
If you want to make it useless, then no
And that discussion just demanding his nerf is humorous, apparently.
I think most people still think that he is quite good at the state he is in.
Personally, I haven't seen anything except these 2 discussions and 2 old posts on redit.

I think it's possible there's been a lack of Dredge's, i've seen 2 in the last 4 months, yeah the new tome invovlves the Dredge, so up tick in Dredge's and survivor's who don't seem to know what to do in a match against the Dredge. That or it's just people immediatly complaining instead of actually trying or changing there playstyle.

A killer is played more often than usual and suddenly they are overpowered.
The same would happen with Clown, Freddy, Myers and Trapper.

Hey, I made a buff dredge discussion...

I mean, I get your point, but currently there seem to be two Threads which are bumped.
One is from march...
And the recent one is more about Dredge being unfair for people with poor vision. And I dont really think that this is a bad take or anything, Nightfall is really dark and not really pleasant to look at for me without any issues when it comes to eyesight. But if you have issues (the OP of the Thread complaining about it is colorblind and wears glasses) it will be way worse, so I think it is a fair point.

There's been nothing interesting on the front page in days, so people must be hungry for overreactions and other foolishness. I don't think these complaints make a ripple in the water.

Dredge is one of the best designed killers in my opinion.
Great base power. Good antiloop with counterplay. Nice addons with strong and different effects that still do t transform the killer too much. Cool sound- and graphic design.
Dredge has a fixed spot in my regular rotation. Awesome killer.
I can understand though that nightfall can be kind of a hustle for some players. But I think the darkness is very immersive and scary. I like to play against it.

I generally like the goofy turkey sltihering across the map. - But given the sheer amount of Dredges the nightfall thing does get rather annoying after a while. It's great to have it every once in a while. But many times a day? Urgh. Not the cute turkey's fault tho.
That being said; I do think his nightfall needs some accessibility options where you have similarily distracting and obscuring but less psychologically disturbing sounds.

Sometimes I wonder if survivors should hear the Dredge's terror radius constantly during Nightfall, like Doctor's fake TR. Might help cover up the actual (and very loud) sounds the Dredge itself makes.
But for OP's topic, as others have said, some survivors have been forced (tragically) to play a few matches against Dredge and now the game is literally unplayable, ruined forever, nerf now, etc. etc.

popularity == must be nerfed

his power is literally designed to be un pleasent and dark

People can ask for an accessibility option, where instead of darkness it’s foggy. And it will be 100% functionally the same, where it will 100% obscure the environment. But it will obscure the environment with fog instead of darkness.

So what you're saying is...we should nerf Pig.

With this logic you can remove all accessibility features. Because the game was designed to be X and Y.
So yeah, no FoV-Slider anymore. Sad.

Nah, that would be too predictable. Nerf Freddy. Again.
Edit: This one aged like fine milk.

I'd be gutted if they did anything to nerf the Dredge. His power in "Nightfall" is a unique and fun power to face and I've always wanted a killer which can toy with the senses.

The only 2 I saw was from one guy who was visually impaired. He made a post and then dug up a post from March

I think someone said the darkness was causing eye strain. Having an accessibility option, that replaces darkness with fog should fix that, while keeping the power effect exactly the same.

Dredge destroys uncoordinated teams, as last they had the kill stats, it was high up there. It has similar macro counterplay as Twins, stay healthy before touching gens, so against the current meta of stay injured, that empowers it. Finally, in certain scenarios it can feel like an un-fun no win scenario, as if Dredge doesn't return to its remnant, Bloodlust is still building up. The only fair nerf it would deserve is plopping down a remnant stops Bloodlust buildup. Even then though, if you've mindgamed the Dredge to swap loops enough to reach Bloodlust 2/3, I'd say you did good and should be happy with your chase turnout.
Overall Dredge is super fair and balanced, and it is likely 2 major factors that make people complain: soloq syndrome, and skilled variety Killers dominating on a better than average Killer.
