What's the deal with the Dark Trinkets amount?
The new event has been out for a few hours, and it looks great. I've seen some critique of the gameplay mechanics, and while I prefer last year's method of collecting items, this one is better for those who don't want to grind for every item for every character.
However, one thing worries me: the amount of Dark Trinkets you actually get. I decided to count the amount of currency you get from all the challenges combined, in both levels of the tome, out of curiosity. I also counted the amount you need to get every reward.
The total amount of Dark Trinkets you get for finishing every challenge on both levels is 1750.
The amount you need to get every reward is 1950.
Math isn't my speciality, but I've counted this three times with the same result, so I'm inclined to believe I've done it right.
So... why did BHVR do this? I have no clue. Hopefully it's just a bug or oversight, and they'll fix it before the event ends. I'd even be fine with them pulling a "hey community, here's a code for 200 FREE DARK TRINKETS! aren't we generous?". What really worries me is if this is intentional, and that, for whatever reason, they thought it would be a fun little mechanic to force people to prioritise their event currency.
TL;DR: the math isn't mathing and I'll be really pissed if I don't get to 100% this event

There are 3 milestone rewards. The 3rd one requires you to collect all 21 items.

Can confirm that you will have enough for all the things!

Thank you, that's a relief :) The event grind is on!

Figured this out the hard way. I see people claiming they will be 25 DT shy, or however much. You're adding up what's left to buy. That number is accurate. Then when you count up how many DT are left to collect from the HBD tome and find you're 25 or 50 DT shy. Its because you have a challenge selected to begin/continue, and when you're counting unfinished challenges you're likely skipping over your current challenge selected since it looks highlighted like the completed ones thus leaving you short however many DT that selected challenge is.
I was going to be short 25 it seemed until I finally realized I wasn't counting the challenge currently selected which was 25 DT I haven't yet collected. Kind of a DUH moment but it's an honest oversight. If you see you're short and it's not because of this, I don't know what to tell you. But that's why I thought I was going to be short LOL.

I posted this before the 2nd level opened, and with my math, you're 200 DT short. However, the 2nd level is now actually open, and the reward for finishing it is 400 DT, as opposed to the 200 DT displayed when I took the screenshots. The reward for finishing every challenge is now exactly what you need to buy everything. Mystery solved :)

I did notice that in your original screenshots the DT in level 2 were only going to be 200 vs the 400 we now get for completing the level. But I've seen people claim they will be 25 or 50 short and found out why that was the case for me. Bonehead oversight on my part but figured it may help out someone who also suffers from "chronic not paying attention" XD
