Framerate drops severly during this event (and others)

Hi, usually when I play DbD, I get a solid 60 frames per second, even while recording or streaming, however, during this event I am getting an average of 30 fps, ranging from 20 to 40, making the game extremely unpleasant to play.

This also seemed to happen to a lesser degree during the masquerade event.

Is there anything you can suggest that might be causing this? PC specs available on request.
