Permanently losing Twins power

I'm not exactly sure how to reproduce this, but I just had a game where Victor randomly deattached from a survivor, started floating and then died. I was unable to use my power for the rest of the game, and the game acted as if Victor was still attached to the person and they were unable to leave through the exit gates as if victor was still attached.

Platform: Steam

Steps to reproduce: Unsure

After posting this I experimented a bit more and figured out that if I down the person who victor deattached from you can get victor back and they will be able to do actions again (including leaving).
