Boon: Dark Theory Change Ideas
Boon: Dark Theory is a very weird and weak Boon Perk. Made For This provides a 3 % Haste Effect by doing nothing, mean while you are wasting 12 Seconds for a Boon that gives 2%. In perspective of other Boons, its just lackluster.
Honestly I am not a fan of more Haste Effects since it became pretty clear what inbalance they can cause, since there is currently no cap.
- 3% Haste Effect (MFT has to be nerfed before this enters the game)
- Something like Detective Hunch but as a Boon
- All Status Effects lose there effect in the Boons Area, the timer persists so if you snuff the boon, the person again is exposed or whatever.
- Dark Theory connects two totems with each other with a Gateway, accessible by all in the match. It takes 3 Seconds to use a Gateway, it goes on Cooldown for 20 Second (Each Person has its own Cooldown so Killers can follow a survivor, but a survivor cannot spam it).
My favourite right now is 3 and 4, since Yoichi Asakawa has stared into the depths of evil. Blessed with paranormal psychic abilities. So it actually makes more sense in a lore perspective.

Awhile back I remember seeing a rework idea for the boon where it works like the perk “vigil”

Status Effects become disabled until Snuffed or Left
U mean like it decreases the duration of status effects?

Yes basically anyone in the boons range recovers faster from exhaustion, hindered, blindness, exposed and other status effects faster

i would run that and vigil as well as 2 more boons for the fun of it

Status effect: If I understand correctly it would continue if the area is left. So I am no longer exposed but once I leave the boon area I have that 9 seconds left.
The Gateway option sounds cool but it would give a new mechanic to the game which should be thoroughly thought through beforehand (always wanted to use these 3 in a sentence lol).

That's correct! So if you are Exposed for 60 Seconds and you enter the Boon, you will no longer be One-Hit. But the Timer continues, so if you leave the Area and the Killer hits you, you will get downed like it's normal with Exposed.
