Made For This isn't the problem, Haste is
This has been a problem that has been on my mind for a long time, ever since Knight's mid-chapter that buffed him by giving his power Haste, and especially when MFT got released and survivors realised that it stacked with Hope and let you outrun 110% killers, to now with Furtive Chase and Trapper getting reworked to give them Haste, I have noticed a bit of a worrying trend
BHVR's current solution to fixing every problem seems to have shifted to "Give it Haste, that'll fix it"
The laziness of this aside (Not fixing the actual problem and instead slapping on a, at best, band-aid) is just straight up unhealthy for the game
Haste, for one, screws up with people's muscle memory and can either dramatically shorten loops for Killers or dramatically increase them, don't believe me? Count how many times you can loop a killer around a pallet with MFT and then Without it, you will be able to loop a pallet or a window a lot more even if the killer doesn't mind-game it, plus it affects a lot of killer powers as well, of the 33 killers we have in the game right now, only about a third of them aren't affected by or have to adjust for Haste in some way, All of the ranged killers, Trapper, Freddy, Skull Merchant, Myers, Ghostface, Twins, Clown, Artist and Sadako, the ones that get hit the hardest also happen to be my favourite killers, Demo, Xenomorph, and especially Knight and Singularity get railed by this one easy to access effect, MFT allows survivors to just barely avoid Shreds and Tail Attacks at their max range, and have to compensate for it in loops which can get borderline aggravating, and Knight and Singularity just get turned into jokes, MFT allows survivors to completely outrun Carnifex and Jailor as well as almost completely outrun Assassin, and while Overclock is still useful for closing distance and removing resources, MFT lets survivors greed so hard that they can often outright ######### ignore Overclock even with its duration addon
The second major problem with Haste is also pretty obvious, it makes holding W, the most boring way to play DBD, significantly stronger, the faster you are, the more time the killer needs to use to catch up to you, meaning that you can hold W to the next pallet with significantly more safety, anything that buffs this "Strategy" is a inherently bad thing, the fact that is also just makes looping in general way easier is just icing on the cake
Haste's final major problem is, especially nowadays, it's ease of access, 22 perks in DBD currently give this extremely strong status effect, and among those perks, the requirements for getting that extremely strong status effect include pressing the Sprint key, vaulting, jumping off a high spot, hooking the obsession, getting 3 Devour Hope stacks, completing all of the gens, losing chase with the obsession, getting a basic attack hit, and getting injured, it's incredibly easy to get (Straight up handed to you in the case of NOED and MFT) and that's not a good thing given how powerful Haste can be
Straight up, Haste needs a nerf, this status effect is way too strong in its current state especially for survivors, in my opinion, all of the Haste effects in the game currently need to be halved, and Haste Stacking needs to be removed entirely, future reworks also need to just not default to adding Haste and instead add literally anything else, DBD is a numbers game where every second counts, you cannot willy-nilly throw this effect onto everything and say that fixes it, because it usually ends up causing a 5-month long shitstorm when you quite literally hand the effect to people on a silver platter
