Is it me or are Survivor Spawns broken?
I usually run Lethal Pursuer on most killers and the survivors I play against have decent spawns, usually a 2 - 2 split, as it should be.
But when I play survivor I can always see at least two other teammates right next to me as I load into the game, sometimes all four of us spawn right next to each other or at least pretty close to each other. This has kind of turned into a game for me where as soon as I load in I just count all teammates I see, and I never get good spawns.
I'm interested if anyone else is experiencing this and what might be causing this (because this clearly isn't happening to the survivors when I play killer), I just want this issue to be addressed because it does start getting on my nerve, especially when you play against Nurse, Legion, or any other killer that benefit from survivors being close to each other.

To clear things up, there isn't a hard set rule for whether or not Survivors should spawn together. There is a chance they will spawn close to each other, and there's also a chance they may be spread out. There's offerings which can influence that, but otherwise it is completely normal for that to change from one match to another.
There are some rules to spawns, of course - the game will avoid spawning you too close to the Killer, for example - but whether or not you spawn next to other Survivors is random.

i usually find 4/5 games i am next to at least 1 other person. most of those times though it is 2 or everyone has spawned together.

omg finally someone else. i was about to make a post but felt like all survivors spawning split up is a bit too strong anyway so i didn't want to sound like i was complaining.
i'm also spawning with all my teammates in a literal corner of the map in majority of my matches lately. if 3 of us spawn together i'm lucky, there's still one person somewhere else.

All Survivors split up is too strong? I'm lost. Please clarify.

early game is when the killer is at their weakest. everyone spawning split up means everyone is on different gens, so if survivors aren't a bunch of degens and sit on gens; 3 gens get done by the time the killer gets their first down. meanwhile when all survivors spawn together, if the killer comes in there won't be any gen progress getting done + the speed penalty for doing gens together. it's a massive difference and can easily dictate the outcome of the match depending on the killer and their tempo.

But why does the game give the killer the offering to start all Survivors separately and give Survivors the offering to start together?

who knows :') they should be other way around, i would actually use shrouds if that was the case.

This has happened to me twice lol I think it's a glitch. Once I spawned right next to a pinky finger Clown. My camera hadn't finished spinning before I was hit in the head with a bottle and downed pretty much immediately. Another time was a Huntress but she either didn't see me or decided to cut me some slack for that bit of bad luck lol

Because those Offerings are heavily outdated. They were there since the beginning (or at the very least very, very early) and back then the Devs thought that it would be good for Survivors to spawn together and bad for them to be alone.
And the Devs never changed those Offerings.
A few years ago I had teh idea that Survivors should spawn with a Repair-Debuff and for each time they get the "Reunited"-Scoring Event, the Debuff becomes lower (e.g. starting with 15% Debuff, for each "Reunited", which means they see another Survivor for the first time, 5% is removed). This would make the Shrouds useful for both sides, Survivors want to spawn together to get rid of the Debuff (which also benefits the Killer because they need to separate to be more efficient) and Killers can make Survivors spawn separated, which would make them more efficient, but puts a Debuff on them.
And it would also lower the impact of random spawns a bit, since the efficiency in general is balanced out by the Debuff.
Sadly this would be better for SWFs on Comms because they could coordinate and get to a meeting point. And it would be more complicated than just switching the Offerings so that Killers have the one which spawns everyone together and Survivors have the Offering which spawns them separated.
