Why did they change spirits weapon animation?

In the PTB when Spirit came out, her weapon shattered when hitting a hard object - which was super cool! Does anyone know why they changed that?

    my guess is performance or it didnt look right to bhvr... pinhead had a unique gen damaging animation and sound, but it was changed as well

    Some of the female killers prefer not to wear shoes and they were cutting their feet on the broken glass left over from Spirit matches.

    You just can't get the cleaning staff nowadays.
