Trickster may be too much now
I have multiple concerns about the Trickster buff.
You state, that you want to keep the machine gun type of attack but also feel that survivors cannot properly evade the blades and therefore get injured too quickly.
Why do you buff the frequency of knives throws? This does not help the fact that you cannot properly evade them, but make it worse. In addition Trickster will now move faster as well (not sure if this is also applied during the throw), can do main event after 6 hits (which brings another problem) and has no recoil anymore.
Why is no recoil making the throws MORE skillful? Now I just need to aim at the center of the screen and spam which needs less skill than having to do recoil compensation to hit.
Also now Trickster can camp and tunnel better as he does only need 6 blades to trigger main event. It's like having a camping Myers with insta stalk addons.
To be honest I am not looking forward to this change at all.

I saw a comp killer called Knightlight say the change is going to make him into an S tier killer. I think there might be a problem when even a comp player thinks something is too strong. The kill rates will speak the loudest I guess. If the new skull merchant can reach a 70% kill rate then the new Trickster might go even higher. They really need to slow down with this new trend of overbuffing killers. The concept of incremental changes is lost on Behavior at this point.

I also have the impression that SM might be too good now too. But that is another topic.
And one does not need to be a comp killer to see this. A lot of experience does this too.

They removed how you throw more blades with each blade most likely to make him more viable when line of sight time is very short and intermittent. This has always been something that huntress and deathslinger did better than trickster so they are trying to address it.
8 hits from 6 is to compensate for that so it fills at the same right but you need to hit more so survivors have more chances to dodge. It's also worth mentioning that trickster will still have 44 blades but need 8 hits. Previously when you had to hit 8 trickster had 60 blades and the blade add-ons also gave you even more.
Removing recoil makes him more skill dependant not skillful. Because the recoil is random.
Main event duration did get reduced by half and it still has the long cooldown after you end it so you will need to be careful when you use it otherwise it will slow you down.
The changes make a lot of sense to me personally. I wouldn't mind if they had to tone some stuff down but i do hope they keep some of the changes because i think he is really frustrating to play right now.

SM is definetly weaker than before. Mainly because they removed her infinite stealth too, you could argue before.

Has he even played Trickster? To be an S-tier Killer, you pretty much need:
-Little to no downtime on your power (No; Locker reloads)
-The ability to easily beat any, or almost any loop in the game (No; projectiles are good, but not that good)
-The ability to quickly and easily close the gap with Survivors so they can't just hold W to another loop (No; he's just a 115 Killer)

My biggest thing is that the recoil was overly hard on controller players. I'm glad that it's gone!

the last time trickster got buffed, people said he would be too strong and he was not strong. this is will be same thing. it is painfully obvious that there is learn to play issue on survivor end.
one thing i am curious about is that if trickster's changes are successful, huntress and deathslinger might become 115% m/s killers one day. that could be really interesting.

PTB is not even out and people already complaining.
OH GOD

Trickster might not be that strong, but he will be even more annoying to go against.
Dodging his knives always feels so... unrewarding. With Huntress you dodge an axe it feels good because now you can run a bit and get behind cover for the next. With Trickster you don't get that breathing room. He just spams you, which is boring.

I said I have concerns. That is a huge difference to "complaining".
And I will test him on the PTB, before either saying "I was wrong" or "well, told you so".

I think the idea is what knightlight is trying to say (he is one of the best dbd players in the entire world as well as his team) is that because trickster will be able to down so fast given that he can be main eventing left and right, has max throw speed etc, his map pressure and the like will come from him getting downs. The other factor these S tiers have other than map pressure (blight with his map speed for instance) is that they can down super fast and this buff basically gives that to trickster. You could be a 9k hour player but if you face this new trickster at a loop with low enough walls or you run into the open, you will get shredded (which in some maps is unavoidable). He or anyone could be wrong until we see him on the PTB but for the most part trickster will almost certainly be A tier now if he does not quite hit S.

your not suppose to dodge all knives. it is a ratio of knives you dodge. for example if he throws 12 knives, you dodge 8 but 4 of them hit. the goal is to extend chases. from avoiding knives, you get into cover and then he cannot fire anymore. Trickster's gameplay plays in volleys. He volleys few knives until you get to an LOS blocker and then he stops. with current form of decay, decay takes 15 second so it is very rare that survivors heal in chase vs his power. with new changes being 10 seconds, you will regularly heal in chase vs ability. you can tank more hits so chases will naturally take longer. If he does not land 8 knives, you just fully and automatically. So even though it says you take 16 knives to down someone, it will be more like 20-24 or something along those lines to down someone. The decay had a longer timer because.... even without the decay, trickster's chase time was not very good. your opinion states that you think his unrewarding to dodge knives so they're buffing his counters. supposedly, these changes will make him a better killer.

Try that at low walls. And if you crouch, he will just M1 you.
That s the problem with spam abilities.

why would you crouch vs spamming trickster? with ranged killer, you wiggle to make shots harder to hit. low wall loops are more favored loops for ranged killer regardless of their length compare to high-wall loops. you almost have no reason to use them because there so many other better loops to go that you are unlikely to ever use these loops. you will only use low-wall loops if there is no other loops to go and the game is dragging on.
it is possible to outplay trickster and empty all his knives but doing that in 1 go is very difficult. it should be difficult because killer is losing chase. you almost win on the spot because killer loses like 2-3 gens for that. long chases are possible against trickster. this just sounds like learn to play issue.
