Dear devs, please add a DBD offline mode for bots only, offline launcher option
Yes while this has been posted before I will say it again. With the addition of bots into DBD on custom, we should have an offline launching option since you get auto-disconnected on launch if the launcher detects no internet connection to the server. This offline launching path would only give you access to the custom mode with bots with access to all of your killers native game and licensed, survivors native game and license with their cosmetics you rightfully purchased. This mode does not require internet and would be great for those on the go. For the argument of everyone has an internet connection, this isn't the issue. It is the core fact that if servers go down at any point or one day shut down altogether for this game when the game is no longer profitable like any other mandatory internet connection game will, all of your progress, items, killers, survivors, cosmetics and importantly money you spent will all disappear forever. This is the obvious dystopian future of game design that just isn't consumer friendly. Which is a shame with a game that has this many awesome licenses all in one place. You do not own this game it is a rental you purchased in its current state. Please add the offline launching option other games give you this option on steam launch to ask which method you would like to launch the game.

Yeah would be nice but i doubt it.
But you are right - less and less people think about everything being digital today.
My DVDs and BRs still work with no internet but all Apple, Disney, Amazon bought movies and series won´t. And if they go broke one day everything you bought is just lost forever.
With games it is an issue since PS3. PS1 and PS2 couldn´t have any patches - these games had to work and be complete out of the box.
Recent games you sometimes can´t play without a day one patch... which is sad.

I second these points the old stuff still works 10 years later. You can still view what you worked on 10 years later. But there are still many games with offline modes that will allow you to future proof the game well past its life cycle.

PS3 and Xbox 360 games could and did have patches. On a quite regular basis on top of having multiple firmware updates for the console itself. It's literally the generation that started the trend of DLC and microtransaction economies.

This would require alot of work since the game connects you to a server to play the game vs bots atm

I also think this would be the barrier to implementing this suggestion. Those bots are on the dedicated servers and not anyone's console or PC, so they'd have to code directly into the game those bots as well I believe.
Strangely enough if we still had the killer hosting the trials like it was around 4+ years ago this may have been possibly in already.

Sad byproduct of the ludicrous scope and cost of a AAA game nowadays. You should see the rapid temporary hire spikes game studios have just to get games out of the door.
Why not delay you ask? When you're already millions in the hole, you cannot afford to delay.
It's a crazy industry

Yes would love to see some kind of effort being put in nonetheless eventually, for preservation, as these game life cycles and its characters will be quite finite if you ever want to revisit 10 years down the line with no servers online.
