Micro stutters with mouse movements - help!
I don't know where to ask more technical questions but i'll try here! Anyone know what issue it might be when I get micro stutter/freezes when im moving my mouse fast? I have tried all types of graphic changes, full screen, cap FPS both low and high, changing settings in the files to force lower graphics, v-sync off and on but I play off because I have g-sync..
Tried nvidia control panel stuff like putting it for better performance and forcing v-sync off etc.
I have a razer tournament mouse, I was thinking if it had something to do with polling rates or acceleration. Did not work to remove it or change it.
Got a RTX 3090 TI
Intel i9-9900k 3.6ghz
64gb ram
PC should be fine handling dbd :kekw:
Temps are fine like 50c something like that, it's not even sweating.
Give me your best tips and tricks! Google is not helping me :cryge:

Is it only in DbD?
The first thing that comes to mind is an interrupt flood.
How high is your DPI?
Maybe it's too high (e.g. 10000 or something insane as that).
If it is, I'd try to reduce it to around the 2000 - 2500 range.

This happens to a lot of people but they don't always notice it, and has been going on for at least a year.
Some people use a quick fix which is to lower the mouse polling rate down to 125Hz but this is kind of a "band-aid" sort of fix which I dislike so when it happened to me when I got a new mouse I couldn't find any help and hated the idea of being forced to use 125Hz polling rate so I figured it out myself, and I made a video demonstrating exactly what the issues are and how to fix them.
I recorded the video in a single take showing default settings in Windows/Mouse software/Dead By Daylight and how if I move my mouse quickly my FPS tanks so hard that if I keep moving it quickly for longer than 5-6 seconds it literally drops to 0 FPS and my game crashes. In the video I stopped short of crashing the game because I wanted to show in a single recording that these specific changes completely resolve the issue without even needing to restart PC. So then I shut down DBD and made changes which are shown in video, restarted DBD and problem resolved no matter how long or fast I move my mouse around.
I submitted the video & explanation to BHVR and didn't hear a single thing. Tried it again just before posting this to see if the same issue happens and it does exactly the same if I re-enable mouse smoothing and "Enhance Pointer Precision"
Details are in video description but in a nutshell:
1 - Dead By Daylight (for some insane reason) has Mouse Smoothing enabled by default with the only way to disable it being to manually edit Input.ini
2 - Windows has "Enhance Pointer Precision" enabled by default which doesn't play nice with games that have mouse smoothing enabled
3 - Most people have mice with higher than 125Hz polling rates. The higher the polling rate is the worse things get when playing a game with mouse smoothing enabled and the issue becomes even more compounded when "Enhance Pointer Precision" is enabled
4 - Certain mice such as the Razer Viper 8K and likely any mouse with over 1000Hz polling rates need to also lower their polling rate down to 1000Hz
In some rare cases, usually just with older systems, having "interrupt moderation" disabled combined with a high DPI & high mouse polling rate can pretty easily flood and ovewhelm older weaker CPU's

Don't give the devs ideas. The scary thing is that should they actually "investigate" this issue, they would likely do something stupid such as remove the ability to disable mouse smoothing and instead implement some limit to how many mouse counts the game will process per second. If there's one thing the devs don't like it's doing things according to a suggestion, even if the suggestion would be the objectively best solution. They always have to have their little "spin" on it. Such as finally implementing some of the "advanced" graphics options in the in-game menu, but in the process taking away the ability to limit the game's framerate to a desired value, or using a resolution scaling above or below the menu's limited range.
Nobody needs mouse smoothing in this day and age. It's a remnant from times of ball mice and 125Hz polling rates. I don't even get why modern versions of the Unreal Engine still support this feature. The devs most likely simply left it enabled by default/on accident and aren't aware of it.
