The Bad Part Of ST Returning to DBD*

*It's not Hawkins.

Hello, resident nerd-complainer here. Trying to stick my neck out for some newer and casual players.

The return of ST is setting a precedent I don't like with the game. I'm not talking about the coming and going of DLCs,that much I frankly don't care for too much.

No,what irks me substantially is that perks that are currently general and free for all new players, used very often as substitutes for ever shifting meta perks from the DLC dollar rotation mill. Having a bunch of pretty decent by now perks be free, was great, but now we're locking them back up into a DLC.

This isn't a great move,in my opinion. I'd prefer Nancy,Steve & Demo not have perks for a little while and get new ones later, because the general perks became a very important staple of more casual builds for folk who can't afford to throw away dozens of dollars every few months at this game just to have a decent build to run.

Talking about common perks in general (get it?), it's time that this thing got an update.

We need general perks to start appearing here, for cheap as a sensible progression option. The fact we still don't have an option to make them unlock on everyone ala the Prestige mechanic is weird and just feels like the devs forgot they made perks not tied to specific Killers.

Since BHVR is clearly far too scared of the Shrine being a remotely viable alternative to buying chapters,as that might hurt sales,I propose these changes instead:

  • Make purchasing perks you already have 50% off and give you 400K Bloodpoints. You're throwing away currency you could spend to avoid giving BHVR money, might as well make it actually worthwhile progression wise.
  • Dedicate a current or a new slot to always feature a general perk to be unlocked. It would cost a quarter of the normal shards price,as it's a general perk, not a skip-DLC button.
  • To make this genuinely useful, either rotate the shrine more often or the specific general perk slot itself. Twice a week ideally.

I really hope both ST perks becoming locked away from casual players doesn't happen & common perks in general get an update to how they're unlocked. The current system is just ancient and unhelpful.
