Chase not registering as Wraith

I had two matches in a row where, after coming out of stealth, the chase music didn't start and the game didn't register the chase as having started. It was very apparent in the second game because after a survivor disconnected the bot would keep vaulting back and forth the window without it being blocked.
I tried to recreate this in a custom game but had no success, no idea what caused it. The first game was in Rotten Fields, the second in Badham.
