My Dissapointments with Legion

I've been playing him quite a bit to see where things fall in terms of balance. I, like most, have seen serious issues with his viability and have decided to make a list of the things that bother me the most about him. This, so far, is the issues I have with him.

  1. His Viability: He is, at his core, a weak killer. I know what they wanted with him. They wanted an anti-tunnel killer who was encouraged to do a lot of damage in one go to slow the game down. But the end result is nothing like this. One of the first things I noticed about him was that it felt stupid that I could see survivors in my terror radius with deep wound but I was unable to reach them. This is good for information, but not for gameplay. I play him as intended, but the best way to play him viably is to abuse chase mechanics.

  2. His Inconsistency: As weak as he is at his core, he can also be stupid OP with the right add-ons. His add-ons are poorly thought-out and all over the place and this makes him all over the place as well.

  3. Lack of Counter Play: Despite his weakness, he has no solid counterplay either. I can tell that it's supposed to be stealth and breaking line of sight, like the Nurse, because of the way his vision fades and turns to the ground after using his ability as well as being unable to see scratch marks. But it works just as well with him as it does the Nurse, as in, not at all if the killer is playing decently. But the Nurse at least has a skillcap and heavy reliance on her ability. The Legion doesn't take a third of the amount of skill to use and his ability is used for an initial hit at best.

  4. Design: This one is more of a personal issue. Physically, I like his design. I might be in the minority on that one, but I like the more human approach. It's a different flavor from the rest of the killers. It's the fact that they're a gang and that's not used for anything other than cosmetics that I take issue with. I thought the idea of a group of friends was interesting and I was curios to see how it would come into gameplay. Turns out, it has nothing to do with the ability at all. That was a real shame, to me, because I thought it was a creative idea that could be used for a very unique playstyle. It kinda feels like the devs had narrowed the design of the killer to four ideas and just couldn't pick which one to go with, so they did all of them.

So these are the biggest issues I have with Legion. As for how to fix him, where to start. He needs a buff for sure, but the devs have to be careful. He can easily end up completely OP. They need to make his ability stronger, while also making it harder to use. The Nurse, the Hag, and the Spirit are all strong killers, but their abilities take skill. They take planning and spot-on prediction of survivors' movements to be viable. If you give a killer the ability to bypass a lot of the survivor's defenses, like the Nurse, the Hag, and the Legion can do, than that killer should come with counterplay to balance it out and the ability would take a lot of skill as a result. The Legion needs counterplay if he's going to be buffed.

Of course, all of this is just my observation. I'm no pro, so if you think I'm wrong on any point it's probably because I am. I'm all for discussion so if there's anything you disagree with, let me know. :chuffed:
