Memories of 1st few DBD games

So a lot of you now have been playing for a long time, are high ranks etc, but we were all beginners once upon a time... What memories do you have of your early survivor/killer games.

I remember early survivor games, when I heard a heartbeat I would just panic run and nearly always straight into the killer!!!

For killer, I admit, I used to face camp!! Yes I remember being so proud of my first kill but soon learnt the hard way about gen rushing.

So you experienced players, what are your memories of your first DBD games :)

I used to be terrified of a Wraith, scared of every killer, wasted every pallet, get ran down by a Nurse who doesn't blink, fail skillchecks all the time, facecamp as myers cause I sucked, not know what a pallet stun was until my 7th game of killer and I thought it was broken af, think killers are OP as hell, and I loved to teabag because I never understood how killers felt from it.

I remembered when Wraith was OP and Hillbilly was #########. This community was more simpler back then.

I thought killers were stupid OP way back when I first started. I was terrified of every killer, thought the pallet vacuum was intended, and only played Jake Park since he was my favorite. Even then, though, I thought DS was dumb and I've never used it. I didn't know what looping was and never tried to rank up. I started off only playing survivor until I picked killer once and chose the Wraith, since he was the coolest to me. Once I started playing killer my views started to change and I began to understand the other side.

Today, I still play mostly survivor and both Jake and the Wraith are still my favorites, but my thoughts on balance have changed quite a bunch. And I'm still playing just about every other day.

As a survivor I remember thinking the killers were scary and I would just drop a pallet and keep on running away. One of my favorite killer memories is my first merciless killer. I still have that screenshot to this day, that day I got merciless killer by playing nurse and not blinking at all XD. I also remember going after 1 specific survivor and getting run around the whole match and never downing them because I was so bad XD. I was so tunnely and I would always face-camp with wraith. I remember I was a Wraith main before Freddy came out too. I also remember how I wanted to get to rank 1 because all the good players and streamers are there. Oh and call me stupid but for a while when I first got Dbd I was playing lots of F13 the game at the time and I was like "yeah this game is totally going to kill Dbd" and nope, I'm personally upset f13 died since Jason is one of my favorite horror characters but Dbd helped fill that empty void. One of my earliest memories though is looking at YouTube videos of the game when it was PC only, I found out about it when there were still only 3 killers and I was really interested in the game. So I began following some youtubers for it and I continued to fall more and more in love with the game. And the day it finally came to console, I was jumping with joy and got the game day one on my playstation. Been playing ever since....

Trying to catch up to a survivor with nurse without blinking, being under impression the survivor is speed hacking

I played my first game with a survivor, it was ######### intense, i got chased by a Trapper all game long, i was the last survivor alive and for some reason the trapper couldnt get to a hook so i kept escaping from him, all the survivors were braindead so they just repaired one gen. i got hooked and killed after 40 minutes of game

I do remember my first game as a killer but i am pretty sure i played it as trapper, i was a doctor main for a long time and did a hell lot of facecamping because it was the only way i could get kills

I'm proud of how far I've come, but in a way I miss my noob days! I played as Claudette since her supportive playstyle and self care seemed to be a good fit for me. My first game ever was on MacMillan Estate against a huntress. The only problem was that a map that is basically pitch black does not mix very well with a bright pink shirt, no matter how cute it may look. I was pretty much target practice! I ran in straight lines and slow vaulted over every window/pallet, even in a chase.

My second game was in Léry's, and we actually finished all the gens and got the gates open. However, the map was so complex and intricate that I never did find my way out. The trapper we were up against did not take mercy on me when he found me, unfortunatley.

I finally managed to redeem myself when I got a hatch escape in my third game. I was hiding behind a pile of debris while a Leatherface stood infront of the hatch with his chainsaw revved up. I watched and waited for a time he went into a tantrum, and just bolted for it.

The first time i got into this game? Damn, i was on the ironworks of misery, And when i went to work on a generator, I let the skillcheck pass by because i thought you could hit it at any time. Moments later i was found by a trapper and i died. This was during the time when the running animations looked a whole lot better.

From then on every generator i completed i hid in a locker because every time i did the killer came straight to that area.

I spent like 40 minutes or something in my first game (Killer) because for one none of us knew what we were doing and for two I was being merciful to Survivors.
I still actually have the recording, back when I used to record my DBD matches. I haven’t checked it in months but I think it was 40 minutes.
This was during a free weekend back in like May or April or something too. We were literally all noobs so it doesn’t come as a surprise to me now.
It was in that Coldwind map with the shed, back when there were total dead-ends where windows occasionally didn’t spawn.
THREE Survivors went down that way and I had them cornered then figured ‘that ain’t fair’, so I backed up and let ‘em go past then turned around for a while to let them escape, and continued again.
    Everyone left the trial happy.

For survivors, i was really happy that i got spine chill and premonition maxed before even hitting level 10. I hated sabo jakes, since they would never help on gens. Dwights were ######### legends in lockers. I avoided windows for the most part, since they were broken strong and started palletlooping pretty quickly. Every game was against camping wraiths at first and camping trappers later :D

For killers, i planted chainsaws in survivors backs for the next 1000 hours. I had sooo much fun doing it, holy crap, until they removed the flick. Whenever infinites tilted me too much, i swapped to trapper or nurse for a quick round.

Fun times, everyone was so bad back then. And i remember one dwight in particular (Juke City) who palletlooped me for the first time and it made me so angry, that i learned it myself afterwards.

I remember doing a lot of Insidious camping. I thought insidious literally made me invisible. In my defense, if you saw the way that low rank survivors acted, you might understand my confusion. For instance, I was playing Hillbilly one game and the survivors got the exit gates opened. So I went to the exit gate and stood still until Insidious came online. A couple of seconds later a survivor charged directly toward me standing by the exit gate where I promptly chopped him down. The only logical conclusion is that I must be invisible right?

I remember always running to a window and getting ready to fast vault and always slow vaulting, killer must of thought, "what a potato". And of course discovering hex ruin and myself and all team mates stopping everything and trying to find it... Ooooh dear lol

In my first game I played against a Nurse and thought this was the only killer in the game.
In my 2nd game ever played I thought a survivor was crouching to me to help me with my Gen.

    It was the Pig.

My first game was with Claudette; I sat, and was absolutely terrified of the killer who was chasing me. I think it was the Hag? Not sure. So, anyway, I just wasted pallet upon pallet; and I’m pretty sure I died when not even two generators were done.

I played it once when it first came to PS4 did a generator and it blew up so I panicked and disconnected. Did not play for 6 months then really got into it. Now I have hundreds of hours and miss being more scared.

My first match, I failed a skill check and kept repairing the gen. The killer came and I didn't even run away. I then got hooked, saved by my boyfriend. But I tried to heal him when the killer was right behind us. Then I got hooked again.

I remember when DBD came out free on PS4 for a month, is when I picked it up. (I got the game ironically because frome watching videos I thought the game looked trash.) Me and some mates only ever played KYF since we were all too scared to play online. And we were so... lost, but the best part was we used to think that Freddy was op as F**K because we had no idea how to play against him, we also thougt Nurse was trash, along with Huntress being really bad too. Furthermore we thought that Amanda was absolute trash, down with Freddy!

Little did I know that Amanda would become my favriote killer, and Huntress sat nicely at second (I swear it's not because they're female.) Every time we played KYF we would never learn, since we mever got better XD. Eventually Some of us ventured into the public matches and that's when I got hooked, playing as a killer at R20, when I was trash, that was fun. Having lots of 4k's and thinking that killer was OP, ranking way quicker than I was improving at the game. Then, after a week or two all my mates stopped playing since they got bored, while me. Somebody who had prior hated the game, found their new main G.

In the first games I was a Feng Min and I didn't know what to do with the generators, I mean skill checks, I didn't know what to press. As was said, near the killer I panicked and didn't loop through any windows or pallets haha. Most of the time I lost control and ran into him.
