RPD rework: All good things come in threes.
Lets look at underground complex: its a map that in no way is completely the same as in the show BUT you can instantly recognize every bit of it.
The game is the same thing. The only problem today are the 30 pallets. If it would be a 1/1 remake it would look a lot different and play a lot worse.
The nostromos only fully acurate game repesentation is in alien isolation. If you would have used that a deck, this would be the worst map in existense, but you didnt. You did a homage that works great to look around and recognize bits from the movie but still works as a dbd map.
so why use map that was clearly design for narrow, difficult, survival horror as a dbd map with only some extra holes in it and cut in half?
take an example from Star wars battlefront 2 (2005), rework the map a last time but this time do it with a dbd map in mind and dont try to bring back nook and corner from the original.
2 things that would make it better just how it is now would be if you stitch it back together, add the cemetary frontyard and 2 window doors to access the west side from it (or another stupid hole) and do the same with the 2 backyards. Treatment theater has kinda the same with its outer hallways and it works brilliant despite being almost as big as og RPD.
The traversing problem could have been solved decades ago.
