PC - Steam overlay turning "Mute focus" off

Step 1 : Boot the game
Step 2 : Boot a different Steam game/tool/software
Step 3 : Turn "Mute focus" on
Step 4 : Open the Steam overlay (Shift + Tab) in Dead by Daylight, then in the different Steam game (or vice-versa)
Step 5 : Close the Steam overlay in either game, at which point "Mute focus" will turn off
Of note : This is particularly annoying because clicking "View profile" in-game will bring up the Steam overlay everywhere, forcing you to turn turn "Mute focus" on every time you want to look at a players profile while you have a different Steam game/tool/software open.
