isn't aftercare just a worse bond?
Sure aftercare has unlimited range, but it only effects survivors you've unhooked, and it goes away if you get hooked. Why would you use it instead of bond?

it affects both players. they only need to remove condition where it disables if you get hooked. it is worse due to that drawback.

Only because it has the deactivation requirement.
If it never went away, it'd be on par with Bond. Better range + affects both parties, but needs to be set up before it functions, versus Bond that has inferior range and only affects you but is automatically active.
Personally I'd call that better than Bond, but it'd be personal preference.

No because it gives you an unlimited range and it works both ways (they also see you). In its current form it’s about the same strength as Bond imo. If it never deactivated it would be the best teammate-info survivor perk in the game.
It triggers on healing actions as well btw, doesn’t have to be an unhook and it can also be them unhooking/healing you.

Yes, it shouldn't lose stacks. Having to earn the aura reading is enough of a downside for it vs bond.

In theory if it didn’t have a deactivation condition it would be the best teammate aura perk in the game

Uses Aftercare
Person you healed uses their newfound aura reading to lead the killer to you
Loses aura reading.
Bond> Aftercare

It's map-wide and allows them to see your aura as well. Overall Bond is still more useful but Aftercare is still a decent perk, just requires setup.

I like Aftercare, but the deactivation makes Bond better.
I only use Aftercare with perks like Blood Pact, and Teamwork: Power of Two / Collective Stealth. After a heal, both parties need to be near eachother. It helps if both parties can see eachother. (Those 3 perks are still useless in solo q though 😔)
Plus, the deactivation makes the perk user far less likely to take/keep aggro.
