Rise in VPN users?

Lately I have been getting a lot of people in my matches who have been using VPNs. I know this because I ask them. Any chance something can be done? Oftentimes you have 200ms plus ping matches where everybody in my lobby is not from my country


Edit: Why not make a ping threshold so that way people aren't matched with others over lets say 150ms

    I don't think they can even detect anyone using VPN's let alone prevent them.

    If there were more server locations available then maybe we can talk more about pings worldwide. Unfortunately many DBD players in South America and in Asia are too far from existing servers and play with poop ping. We'd need solutions that don't end up in "Screw em I just don't want to be matched up with them."

    I am surprised showing the killer's ping has been gone for so long. Maybe they don't want rabid Lobby Dodging due to it? Dunno.

    Preventing matchmaking with too high of ping (500+? Something that prevents outrageous games without hurting people located far away from nearby servers) might work. I would recommend against VPN blocking solutions as they're not all-encompassing and there are ways to force the game to put you on other servers without using any VPN type of service.
