Why run Gift of Pain?

My main point is Sloppy Butcher keeps you mangled and hemorrhaged when you are unhooked, so as long as you M1, your fine.

In the context of Oni. Your Demon strike doesn't use Sloppy (because its an M2), so yeah "you could use GOP to get survivors hemorrhaged and mangled". But hell, when the survivors heal at hook, there is probably enough blood to get your power back.

And GOP doesn't even make the survivors more mangled, or more hemorrhaged. I would just love a world where scourge hooks add 1 more scourge hook per scourge hook perk used, but since that isn't in the game.

Theres really not a reason to. I could see a few niche builds for it but overall sloppy is just better. Not to say sloppy is too strong or anything, but that gift of pain is trying to fill a niche thats already filled.

If you primary use your M2 for damage and lack any access to mangled/hemorrhage via addons and care about stopping survivors from healing up.

Which admittedly is practically no killers, but that is the only reason to run it.

I mean fundamentally it's a bad perk because it encourages not tunneling, when tunneling is the best thing you can possibly do. So, no matter what the effect is, it's always a bad perk by design lol.

But, I do think it has a nice appeal on M2 killers AND it's pretty good for making people think twice about healing. The 16% debuff on 90s gens is decently impactful. Either people are constantly slower on gens or they're injured. Not rly by a lot but it's ok, lol.
