Did the MMR soft cap change get rolled back?

I thought the sudden dip in match quality was just due to the release of Chucky, but over a week later, it isn't improving. I'm wondering if the soft cap changes got rolled back.

Solo queue was great for the most part after the changes before the Chucky release. I was actually having fun playing solo queue. It was a huge change from the normal solo queue experience for me. I could log in, play 5 games, and escape in 4 of them because my teammates were near my skill level and didn't throw games.

It's back to being a genuinely horrible experience since Chucky released. I didn't lose games to drop an MMR bracket. I escaped ~70% of my matches for weeks. There's no conceivable reason that I should suddenly go back having zero chance of winning games because a P1 Mikaela who doesn't know how to mend is in my lobby, or someone is on the great dull totem hunt of 2023 at 5 gens. The killers aren't better. I didn't go up in MMR to face better killers. The players I'm being matched with are really inexperienced and don't match my playstyle at all. That's as nice as I can put it. It's a sudden, massive departure from the weekend before the Chucky release. What happened?

Overall teammate quality took a sharp nosedive when Chucky released and it hasn't improved since. Solo queue feels just as bad as it did before the recent soft cap increase, and I wonder if the changes were rolled back. If not, then something is seriously broken. I'm nearing ~5000 hours and I'm consistently being matched with players who have under 300 hours. This wasn't happening 2 weeks ago and it's not like I lost 100 games in a row, or even 5 in a row at any point. I didn't even die in 50% of my games over a month span. I wish there was transparency about this kind of thing, because I straight up don't want to play right now. It's frustrating when you feel like the game doesn't respect the time and effort you put into it.

I don't even know if mmr is exists atm lol.

My games are pretty weird lately, i can say that.

But non of them was weird like 10 hours Dwight matched with me and other +3k hours players. Killer (Wesker) also had +5k hours and no, this Dwight was solo because he joined lobby after someone dodged. Poor guy was weak - line and Wesker just tunnelled him out.

And another weird thing, it's usually terrible bad killer with insanely good teammates or opposite. I don't know what's wrong tho. I got like 8 - 9 escapes in row and then i got very baby teammates against god Blight. Like i understood why i got him but i don't understand why my teammates was in this lobby.

I've definitely noticed the terrible killer+great teammates or 4k plus hour killer+baby teammates thing. Something just feels...broken. I've had games where the killer got zero hooks the entire game, and I just had a lobby with a 65 hour player. And it's a shame, because it was really good for a few weeks before Chucky.

My games today have been all over the place in terms of skill, both killers and survivors. I've had enough and it's not even 11am lol

I feel like it sort of works. I had a very bad stretch recently where I just lost game after game. However in the last few days I have gate escaped in 13/16 solo queue games. One of those losses was from a teammate giving up. The killers were significantly worse than the ones I am typically matched with. I definitely notice less sweaty blights/nurses than I had before which is a win in my book. My teammates are consistently decent to good but not amazing. Occasionally a terrible player will sneak in.

From what they said, expect some wild changes to your matches for awhile until your mmr settles into its new home. Maybe you found your new home?

Most of the time the BP incentive is stuck on Survivor for me. I suspect lots of the more experienced Survivors are a little tired of facing Chucky every game and have stopped playing for a bit. Long periods of BP incentives on one side seem to negatively affect the MMR system quite considerably.

That said, from my experience the time of day has more of an impact on the quality of games and strength of my opponents / teammates than the MMR system ever does. I can only assume my Survivor MMR is so low, I could theoretically end up in any lobby without throwing the numbers crunched by the system too far out of bounds. So I get utterly useless teams in the middle of the day (Killer is bad, teammates are worse) but later I join the SWFs after about 6 PM (Killer is variable, teammates actually touch gens).

My Killer games have been more balanced, but even then mismatches are not uncommon.

At this point I don't even mean it as a meme when I say:

    SBMM doesn't exist.

Two days ago I played against the best Twins player on the EU server and then literally the next game I got an 89 hour Legion who barely had any good perks. He got 2 hooks and it wasn't even a particularly gen focused team.

The past few days I’ve been playing against the same people

And it usually results in me being tunneled because they remember me

Lol I had an Oni today who DCd and his penalty had clearly run out by the time I loaded into my next lobby because I had him again and he was nasty during that game. I find if I get steamrolled by a killer and then get that same player the next game, they'll let me go. If they lost to me first game though then they're merciless the next round.
