New experimental game mode
It’s been a while since I made a feature suggestion here since.. well they usually don’t take community suggestions and implement them as that in their game - understandably so.
but I guess something that could freshen up the experience while not directly impacting the normal gameplay is having a new queue/game mode with experimental stuff (instead of heaving separate queues for ranked/casual)
it would work similar to the beta tab, but with features that impact the whole game from more than just one side. We know the devs are already testing features that never make it to a PtB or even live version (eg the former planned equivalent for the ‚early game collapse‘) - with this new game mode you can test out stuff like this or even the base-mori/unbreakable and collect feedback while not having the normal gameflow interrupted.
if the playerbase hates the features, they can hop onto normal mode and not be affected, the experimental mode can make more changes that don’t even need to be super polished or anything and see how the reactions go. If it’s actually overall well accepted, it may go onto PTB/eventual live release
here is some examples beyond the above mentioned:
- Having more than one type of pallet, eg pallets that are not vault-able, or pallets that break on use
- gameplay elements that are event-specific but generalized (eg kickable pumpkins but with general non-seasonal skins)
- new crow interaction: crows have x% chance of attacking the player and need to be repelled otherwise causing hindered status/slow vaults - percentage affected by luck
- any of my other suggestions like the new survivor items, spiderwebs blocking some windows etc
