Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Anonymous Mode Features More Negatives than Positives

This feature mostly functions to protect hackers and also protect players who behave annoyingly.

~ players who give up on the first hook, players who are toxic in chat rather than protecting players who are afraid of being targeted.

    Strongly disagree.

It protects people from being streamsniped and just in general being harassed and targeted.

Yes it protects cheaters and toxic people in chat too but you don't need to know their names. You can report them and BHVR will be able to deal with them the same way as non anonymous mode users.

You do need to know a players name to target and harass them though so anonymous mode is fit for it's purpose.

You know what actually protects hackers? The hundreds of burner accounts they can make when Epic give the game away for free. If someone is cheating or breaking the rules, they can still be reported. You don't need their username or access to their Steam profile. In fact, if someone is saying things in chat that are against the TOS, you don't even need to provide evidence when you report them because the chat logs are viewable at Behaviour's end.

Anonymous mode has zero downsides for anyone that doesn't like to leave childish -rep comments (that can be deleted and are therefore pointless anyway) or bring grievances into new matches.
