New monetization opportunities.

Dead by daylight is a p2w game, there is no point in hiding it or distorting the narrative to make it appear that it is not.

Definition of pay to win is:

Designed in such a way as to allow players to exchange real-world currency for in-game benefits.

And being p2w in itself is probably not that bad, since people defend it, since mobile games also somehow survive this way. But still, at some point the paywall in dbd will be so big that new players will not even want to try the game to find put the only way to trully unlock whole game is to spend hundrets of dollars, and without new players, the game will die, because it is impossible to keep old and loyal fans indefinitely, because even if they would never leave on their own, they will grow old and die someday, right? And maybe there is not much talk about it, but there will be more voices and the moment of realisation may come too late.

And even if someone is absolutely convinced that this is definitely not the case and is 100% sure that something like this will never happen and it's just some random guy from the Internet who wants to play a game for free. Maybe it's worth thinking about at least such an eventuality... because faith is faith, but is it more profitable to not trust a random person, continue to do your job, reaping profits until his words turn out to be true, or is it more profitable to believe, even reluctantly change your approach, keep making profits until the words of random guy turn out to be false... well, in the second case you lose nothing.

Many of the free2play games that do not hide their content behind any paywall perform very well. For example lol, it's one of the highest earning game, and smite has money for collaborations, making licensed skins and even giving them away just for participating in the game. So maybe p2w is not the only way to make money?

Personally, I think that all expansions, or at least the original ones, should be completely free for everyone who owns the base game, but I understand that this may be too radical an approach, so maybe let's focus on the perks that do the most. With the release of a given DLC, all perks should start appearing in the bloodwebs of each character, because this is the aspect that interferes most with the game itself and, above all, perks should not be hidden behind a paywall.

But the title of this topic is alternative ways of monetization, so how would Behavior make money if not from perks?

There are a lot of options, but I will present a few, apart from skins, because they are already in the game:

- custom mori animations which lot of killer players would buy since they will see it too.

- custom voicelinces, this one is tricky, but doable to add special voicelines on "hooking", "unhooking", "healing", "hitting" etc. Vocelines can be scary, indimidating, calming, apologetic etc. And lot of people would pay 0.5$ or 1$ for a single voiceline they will like and share with everyone they interact with.

- customized hooks and genes - this is a thing dbd needs from game 1. Charms are charming... but different visuals of hooks and gens would be awsome to express oneself.

- cosmetics on killer powers.
