When I'm being chased, I drop pallets for 200 bloodpoints each.
What is all this talk about saving the shack pallets? Save them for what?
What the hell is a "God pallet" ?

Can anybody define God pallets? Or explain why you're literally rewarded BP for dropping them? They do slow down the killers as they have to break them!

God Pallets: The pallets killer must break(except for the nurse) to keep chasing survivors because the pallet is blocking the whole path.

But then why would I not drop it? I want the killers path blocked. If I don't, I'll go down. I don't understand the concept of saving them. Save them for what? If I'm in danger, I have to protect myself.

For the late part of game. If a survivor is tunneled by a killer, that survivor should extend the game as much as he/she can for teammates, also for his/her own potential survival. Saving god pallet for this tunneled survivors can help them a lot.

Pallets are not an infinite resource like windows are.
Part of learning how to play survivor is understanding the strength of each pallet and the loop it creates, for example that particular pallet in midwich room is next to unplayable when upright, not even looping it really helps, but is super strong when dropped. (room upstairs with a gen in, library I believe it is) That's a rare pallet though, most strong pallets you should loop to the maximum to avoid dropping them especially early in the game where survivors are already at their strongest.
Seeing someone dropping a god pallet casually in the early part of a match hurts my soul especially as they go down a couple of seconds later anyway.
As a survivor you will eventually go down - that's the design of the game, it's about wasting the killers time. If you're just dropping pallets and running away, you are not wasting the killers time. It's all about efficiency and time management.
If I'm playing against someone who just drops pallets in the first chase - I know that game is mine, because I know later in hte match there is going to be nothing left and as I have a shorter patrol area at that time, then it's effectively gg.

Thanks for the tips! I'll try to loop better although it is my greatest weakness. I'm embarrassingly awful at it, with or without pallets.
Maybe we could flip the BP award?
Like, isn't it more bold not to drop?
Just a thought. Also, there are challenges that say things like "Drop 6 pallets while being chased" so I kind of thought it was a good move.

If you're just dropping pallets and running away, you are not wasting the killer's time.
That's just factually wrong. It may not be the optimal way to run a loop, but if you're being chased and you drop most pallets, it's going to waste the killer's time. This is especially true for god pallets. If you drop the shack pallet while the killer is in the shack, they need to break it, catch up with you, or find someone else. It wastes a bunch of time. There are also a bunch of killers where pre-dropping a pallet and holding W is the best option.
It's also not great advice to tell newish survivors to greed pallets. It takes a long time to internalize how long it'll take you to run the loop again or get somewhere safe versus how long it'll take the killer. It wastes more of the killer's time dropping a pallet early and running away than greeding the pallet and going down.
The problem isn't really throwing pallets and running away as it is your survivor pals not doing gens while you're getting chased.

On the topic of keyboard keys (like W meta), there was also Press E to win which was used for the old Dead Hard since people usually binded DH to E, which probably doesn't help since old Dead Hard is old news and DH takes more skill now so take that as a fun little fact lol.

You just need to gage the strength of a loop and try to waste as much time as you can before dropping a pallet. With some exceptions where you need to pre drop or just burn a god pallet etc. But it is a huge chunk of the survivor's skill knowing and reacting to this. A good rule of thumb is, if you are not on death hook and healthy, then get as much value out of pallets as you can before dropping them. But if you are on death hook or injured and death hook especially then burn all the pallets you want, especially because by then the match is coming to an end so pallets literally do not matter then and you dying will be a much worse off thing for the team then a few pallets being gone.

Although.....
I like the idea of having a perk that allows a survivor to restore 1 pallet per trial, however, it will take them 30 to 50 sec to restore. For example, if a survivor drops god pallet mad early, you can use that perk to restore it. However, it will take half a gen progress to restore it back. After that happens, the perk get disabled though out the trial.

It's interesting that someone with 4k hours doesn't have this knowledge, it shows me that it's things that are learnt through other means other than just playing the game and giving me some definite food for thought in how we (bhvr we I mean) can do more to help not just newer players but inexperienced players as well.

Blood points aren't really reflective of best actions, more along the lines of 'look, I'm playing the game'. Especially on survivor side, sometimes the best thing you can do for your team is just hammer gens, which by itself doesn't get you as many bloodpoints.
When to drop pallets is tricky with no right answer. Comp players tend to drop pallets almost instantly, but that's because killers at that level are so dangerous they are hard to play around and the comp survivor knows his team is focused on gens.
Some survivors believe that pallets, especially god pallets, should be saved for the end so survivors on death hook can have some protection. Others think early game drops are best because this means the other three survivors can focus on getting as many gens done as possible (also against Oni dropping pallets early too keep him from getting his power).
In terms of lingo, a weak pallet is the opposite of a god pallet (a strong pallet would be one the killer probably will need to break, but isn't absolute). Weak pallets offer almost no protection when dropped and really only have value if you can pull of a stun, which is frequently difficult as they are easy for the killer to play around. The weakest pallet in the game is the below one on RPD:
Dropping the pallet doesn't slow down the killer at all and getting a stun is incredibly difficult as the loop you are playing around (the desk and chair) are very small.
The Game has lots of God pallets. There are two right outside basement, if the survivor drops them the killer has to break them or the survivor should be able to loop the killer forever. Some people say this makes the Game an incredible survivor map, others though disagree and say that the lack of strong windows is much bigger weakness than having really strong pallets.
I'd say there are a couple tiers of pallet play:
1: Just drop the pallet
2: Run around the loop as many times as possible before the killer catches you, then drop the pallet
3: Mind game the pallets, act like you are going to drop it so the killer slows down to not get stunned (this is sometimes called greeding a pallet), then keep running for another loop or two before you actually drop it.
4: After all of that, get back to a level where you just drop the pallet

It felt like one because I have seen the term a lot and for the first time yesterday, I saw the term "God Window".
I played as Ghostface today on Garden of Joy, so I get it.
Thing is, if I hadn't read the post, I would have just chalked it up to me being bad. I was looped through the house by the same Yoichi all match.

Looping is definitely not my strongest thing.
Your helpful tips yesterday have helped me, not just as Survivor, but also as Killer.
I was always perplexed as to why some Survivors would let me chase them in a loop and not drop the pallet to stun me.
It really helps in both roles and I'm going to do my best to memorize some good loops.

Because if you drop the pallets too quickly you can become large portions of the map a dead zone too quickly and it is detrimental for you and your team mates later.
I suggest you to save pallets and only drop them if you are injured. There are a few exceptions in which is better to drop a pallet if you are not injured, for example: you are in Exposed state (obvious); the killer is the clown and you are affected by the gas, its dangerous to no predrop the pallet because he can hit yo easily again due the hindered effect; you are facing the Oni and he still didn't injure anybody, in this case is better to pre drop a pallet all the time because until he achieve his first hit he is a basic M1 killer with no power and delaying the first injure is recommended to stop his snowball.

So the term pre-drop is what I was doing? Dropping pallets while actively being chased?

I thought pre-drop was when Survivors throw down a pallet at the start of the trial in order to be able to just vault them later.
I see that type of stuff, dropping at start of trial, rarely, but enough to have thought that was pre-dropping.

I think part of it is some of this knowledge comes from looking outside of the game or having someone who knows. I do not think its necessarily a flaw of the game itself.
