Why can't we switch killers anymore?
So I remember long ago when I started playing in lobbies you could swap killer maybe you weren't feeling Hillbilly at that moment and wanted to change instead of backing out having wait to get a new lobby just because you wanted to play someone else I remember it was disabled because of a glitch yet they never bothered just fixing it and re-enabling it I won't there have been times I've changed my mind on what killer I wanted to play but in the end couldn't because I would have to back out of a lobby and then select the character and then have the game look for a new lobby. I know it sounds stupid but survivor have been able to do it for a while but I mean what's stopping them from bringing it back that way people could change their killer if their not feeling it at the moment during a lobby. I know someone will say well they'll last minute switch but survivors have done that for a good while why can't killers?

Because of MMR. This was done to prevent you from selecting a killer that you're bad with, find a group of survivors with lower MMR, then switching to your main for an easy game.

Something something individually-tracked killer MMRs. Even though that's a load of bull.

So you won't just switch to Plague the moment you see 4 medkits

It was never disabled due to a glitch, I'm not sure where that comes from.
This is correct. In order to support separate ratings for each Killer, we have to prevent switching after you've started searching for a match, otherwise you could end up in an unsuitable lobby for the Killer you end up switching to.

The matchmaking incentives are supposed to be in part due to our MMR, correct?
I play 4 killers total so when it pops up 100% on Killer, how does the system possibly know which Killer I am going to select before pressing the ready button 🤔

Has nothing to do with counter picking items

Killers already have an immediate advantage by seeing items before the match even starts, yet preventing the killer from swapping their low MMR killer to their best is babying survivors?

I don't play Plague

I believe it's mostly based off your region. If your region is lacking a certain role, it offers a bp offering for that side to give an incentive for people to pick that role.

This gotta be the dumbest response ever

The matchmaking wait time for killers is short anyway, so if you feel that your chosen killer is not strong enough against a party where all four of you are bringing in items, leave the lobby honestly.
This is unreasonable compared to the fact that survivors can prepare to abuse the killer by bringing in lights and toolboxes when there are less than 15 seconds left, but I guess it is inevitable for the sake of MMR, which I am not sure if it works or not.

MMR is a mystery... lol. Just played my very first Billy game on my PS account, only to get surprised by some fairly high prestige survivors, one of which was P100. Took that as a sign I was surely gonna lose, only to have a pretty fast 4k as I kept getting back to back chainsaw snipes at gens.
