Old Meme all the text wouldn't fit in:

Text:

BHVR Headquarters 3rd floor team meeting room:

1: "Players are complaining that the Alc Ring add-on grants the Blight the ability to instantly recharge his tokens by striking survivors." how do we fix this?"

2: "Obviously, we can't give blight any addons that recharge his tokens faster than the standard rate."

3: "Definitely in the right direction, But how are we gonna make it so he can still infinitely rush survivors? I mean, that's Obviously the Most Loved part about Blight."

4: "Wasn't infinite rushing, the uh, actual problem survivors are complaining about?"

    Hehehehe, funny.

The 2 variatons of the add-ons are different though. The issue with old Alc Ring was a sufficiently skilled Blight (not even that highly skiled Blight) could go on a massive slugging spree basically until he missed, and even if he did miss his power still comes back pretty fast anyway, so he can basically just keep doing it all throughout the match.

This new version allows him to keep rushing inifinitely until he gets a hit, but when he gets that hit, he has a 20 second cooldown period where he gets literally 0 rushes to convert it into a down and has to play as an m1 killer. The smart thing to do now is to try and keep survivors wounded, and use the time to actually hook or do some other menial task while the power is disabled.

Here's a neat little secret that will save you a lot of time.

Every single time BHVR declared that they want to change something, just immediately assume that whatever change they implement to achieve their goal, is going to end up causing the exact opposite of the stated objective.

:: puts on tin foil hat:: Okay I'm convinced they go crazy with PTBs and have things tweaked way over powered, that way when it goes live to how they would have tweaked it originally - people won't complain and they will celebrate it's been changed from the PTB. If they did the original tweaks they had in mind - people would still complain and they would have to make it a lot weaker.

Case in point is the Trickster.
